FAMILY-PLEASING TURKEY CHILI

- In a large nonstick skillet, cook the turkey, green pepper and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink, breaking it into crumbles. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Drain. , Transfer to a 4-qt. slow cooker. Stir in the tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, broth, corn, tomato paste, chili powder, pepper, cumin and garlic powder. , Cover and cook on low until heated through, 4-5 hours. If desired, serve with toppings., Freeze option: Freeze cooled chili in freezer containers. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Heat through in a saucepan, stirring occasionally; add a little water if necessary.

Steps:
- In 12-inch skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain.
- In 4- to 5-quart slow cooker, mix beef mixture and remaining ingredients.
- Cover and cook on Low heat setting 6 to 8 hours.

SLOW COOKER TURKEY CHILI
Steps:
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and bell pepper and cook until tender, 8-10 minutes. Add the turkey and cook until no longer pink, 6-8 minutes. Add the garlic and tomato paste and cook 2 minutes.
- Transfer the turkey mixture to a slow cooker. Stir in tomatoes (with their juices), black and kidney beans, frozen corn kernels, chicken broth, chili powder, ground cumin, dried oregano, salt and black pepper. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours. Reduce heat to warm and serve out of the slow cooker.
- Garnish with cheese, avocado, and corn chips, if you like.
SLOW COOKER TURKEY CHILI
This is one of my weekly meals for my family! It's easy and delicious. Top with sour cream, Cheddar cheese, chopped onion, green onion, or crushed tortilla chips. Maybe even in a sourdough bread bowl!
