1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup crunchy peanut butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs eggs
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 ½ teaspoons baking soda

Steps:

  • Cream butter, peanut butter, and sugars together in a bowl; beat in eggs.
  • In a separate bowl, sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; stir into butter mixture. Put dough in refrigerator for 1 hour.
  • Roll dough into 1 inch balls and put on baking sheets. Flatten each ball with a fork, making a crisscross pattern. Bake in a preheated 375 degrees F oven for about 10 minutes or until cookies begin to brown.

Simple peanut butter cookies with the traditional crisscross on the top.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 ¼ cups creamy peanut butter
1 cup margarine
¾ cup white sugar
¾ cup packed light brown sugar
2 eggs
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the peanut butter, margarine, brown sugar and white sugar. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder and baking soda; stir into the peanut butter mixture. Form dough into walnut sized balls and place them 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Dip a fork into flour and criss cross each cookie to flatten slightly.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven, until just lightly browned. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Cream shortening and peanut butter with sugars.
  • Add egg mix in thoroughly.
  • Blend all dry ingredients together, add to shortening mixture, mix well.
  • Chill dough.
  • Heat oven to 375' degrees F.
  • Drop dough by teaspoonful onto lightly greased baking sheet.
  • With fork dipped in sugar lightly press in crisscross.
  • Bake 8-10 minutes.

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup butter flavor shortening
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Cream butter, shortening and sugars. Add the eggs and blend well. Add the peanut butter and vanilla. Add all dry ingredients until well blended.
  • Roll tablespoonfuls of dough into balls and place 3 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheets. Using a fork, make a crisscross pattern in each cookie.
  • Bake at 375º for 8-10 minutes. Do not overbake. Leave the cookies on the sheets for 5 minutes before removing to a rack to cool completely.

1 cup sugar
1 cup creamy peanut butter

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mix all ingredients. Scoop level tablespoonfuls and roll into balls. Place on ungreased baking sheets and flatten with a fork., Bake at 350° until set, about 18 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool.

  • In a medium bowl, stir peanut butter and sugar together until smooth. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the baking soda, salt, and vanilla.
