ASIAN PORK TENDERLOIN

Asian Pork Tenderloin image

This is a simple and flavorful recipe. For best results, marinate the pork at least 8 hours (overnight is best) and flip it after 4 hours. It's great with rice and Asian veggies like bok choy! Enjoy!

CHAR SIU (CHINESE BBQ PORK)

Char Siu (Chinese BBQ Pork) image

"Char siu" literally means "fork roast" - "char" being "fork" (both noun and verb) and "siu" being "roast" - after the traditional cooking method for the dish: long strips of seasoned boneless pork are skewered with long forks and placed in a covered oven or over a fire. This is best cooked over charcoal, but it's important to cook with indirect heat.

Time 3h40m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 pork tenderloins
½ cup soy sauce
⅓ cup honey
⅓ cup ketchup
⅓ cup brown sugar
¼ cup Chinese rice wine
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
½ teaspoon red food coloring
1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder

Steps:

  • Cut pork with the grain into strips 1 1/2- to 2-inches long; put into a large resealable plastic bag.
  • Stir soy sauce, honey, ketchup, brown sugar, rice wine, hoisin sauce, red food coloring or red bean curd (see Cook's Note), and Chinese five-spice powder together in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook and stir until just combined and slightly warm, 2 to 3 minutes. Pour the marinade into the bag with the pork, squeeze air from the bag, and seal. Turn bag a few times to coat all pork pieces in marinade.
  • Marinate pork in refrigerator, 2 hours to overnight.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
  • Remove pork from marinade and shake to remove excess liquid. Discard remaining marinade.
  • Cook pork on preheated grill for 20 minutes. Put a small container of water onto the grill and continue cooking, turning the pork regularly, until cooked through, about 1 hour. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).

CHINESE BBQ PORK TENDERLOIN

Chinese BBQ Pork Tenderloin image

This tender pork tenderloin recipe is so easy to make! Marinade the pork overnight and then make a quick, homemade Asian BBQ Sauce to go on top while it's baking!

Provided by Dan

Categories     Dinner

Time 1h5m

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 pork tenderloins (about 2 pounds each)
1/2 cup hoisin sauce
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup red wine
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground coriander
Pinch of cloves
Fresh black pepper to taste
1/2 cup BBQ sauce (can use low sugar BBQ sauce if doing low carb)

Steps:

  • Combine the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, red wine, garlic, sugar, cinnamon, coriander and the pinch of cloves in a resealable bag or a glass baking dish. Add the pork tenderloins and marinate overnight or for at least 8 hours, turning during the marinating process to coat both sides of the pork.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  • Remove the pork from the marinade (reserving the marinade) and dry off with paper towels, then add to a baking dish that's been sprayed with cooking spray. Place into the oven for 30 minutes.
  • While the pork is in the oven, pour a cup of the marinade into a small pot. Bring the marinade to a boil for 5 minutes, then turn the heat down to a simmer for an additional 3-5 minutes. Add the 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce and stir to combine, then remove from the heat.
  • After 30 minutes, take the pork out of the oven and baste with the sauce. Return the pork tenderloins to the oven for another 15 minutes, then remove and baste again. Bake for another 15 minutes or until the temperature reaches 140 degrees.
  • Tent the pork loosely with foil to rest for 10 minutes. Slice and serve with additional sauce on the side.

SPICY CHINESE PORK TENDERLOIN

Spicy Chinese Pork Tenderloin image

This easy recipe is one of my favorite dinners for company. Leaving out the red pepper flakes, makes it a dish for anyone. Presented on a platter over rice, it looks very appealing. It is equally as good made on the grill, or in the oven. It originally came from a syndicated column in our local newspaper. Prep time includes marinading.

CHINESE BARBEQUE PORK (CHAR SIU)

Chinese Barbeque Pork (Char Siu) image

In addition to its impressive high-gloss appearance and savory taste, this Chinese barbeque pork is quite easy to make at home--even without a fancy ceramic grill.

Provided by Chef John

Categories     World Cuisine Recipes     Asian     Chinese

Time 5h10m

Yield 6

Number Of Ingredients 14

⅔ cup soy sauce
½ cup honey
½ cup Chinese rice wine (or sake or dry sherry)
⅓ cup hoisin sauce
⅓ cup ketchup
⅓ cup brown sugar
4 cloves garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
⅛ teaspoon pink curing salt
1 (3 pound) boneless pork butt (shoulder)
1 teaspoon red food coloring, or as desired
1 teaspoon kosher salt, or to taste

Steps:

  • Place soy sauce, honey, rice wine, hoisin sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, garlic, five-spice powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and curing salt in a saucepan. Bring to a boil on high heat; reduce heat to medium-high. Cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat. Cool to room temperature.
  • Cut pork roast in half lengthwise. Cut each half again lengthwise forming 4 long, thick pieces of pork.
  • Transfer cooled sauce to a large mixing bowl. Stir in red food coloring. Place pork sections into sauce and coat each piece. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 4 to 12 hours.
  • Preheat grill for medium heat, 275 to 300 degrees F (135 to 150 degrees C) and lightly oil the grate. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Remove sections of pork from marinade and let excess drip off. Place on prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with kosher salt to taste.
  • Transfer pork sections to grate over indirect heat on prepared grill. Cover and cook about 45 minutes. Brush with marinade; turn. Continue cooking until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center reads 185 and 190 degrees F, about 1 hour and 15 minutes more. Do not use any more marinade on cooked meat until after you boil it.
  • Place leftover marinade in saucepan; bring to a boil; let simmer 1 minutes. Remove from heat. Now you can use it to brush over the cooked pork.

EASY CHINESE PORK TENDERLOIN

Easy Chinese Pork Tenderloin image

Plan ahead the pork needs to marinade for a minimum of 6 hours. I LOVE this pork cold sliced into salads or fried rice, or just about anyway LOL! I most always double this recipe and make 4 pork tenderloins at one time then vacum-pac and freeze to use anytime in recipes. If you are serving it cold, then only slice up what you are using, as the pork will dry out faster once you slice it.

Provided by Kittencalrecipezazz

Categories     Pork

Time 7h30m

Yield 2 pork tenderloins

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 lbs pork tenderloin (2 tenderloins)

5 green onions or 5 scallions, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sherry wine
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
black pepper

Steps:

  • Rinse the pork under cold water; pat very dry with paper towels.
  • Cut slits (about 1/2-inch deep, or a little less) in the pork with a sharp knife to absorb the marinade, then place in a glass baking dish.
  • Combine ginger, green onions, 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons soy sauce, sherry, sugar, hoisin sauce, garlic (if using) and black pepper.
  • Pour the marinade over the pork and turn to coat well on all sides.
  • Cover and refrigerate for 6 hours, turning every so often to make certain to coat all sides of the pork.
  • Set oven to 350°F.
  • Place the pork on a rack on top of a baking sheet or pan, reserve the marinade, you can sprinkle with salt if desired.
  • Roast for about 1-1/2 hours (it might take longer or shorter than 1-1/2 hours, best to use a meat thermometer for this), basting with marinade every 15 minutes.
  • Serve the pork warm or cold.
