CHICKEN A LA KING- FREEZER FRIENDLY
This is very easy and tasty- pretty, too. (Despite my awful picture.) Can be served same day or frozen in larger quantities for OAMC. Steps:
- In a large skillet over med-high heat, cook mushrooms and green pepper in butter until peppers are crisp-tender; Remove from heat.
- Lightly spoon flour into a measuring cup, level off, and put into skillet.
- Stir in flour and pepper. Return to low heat until mixture is smooth and bubbly, stirring constantly.
- Stir in bouillon granules, milk, and water. Bring to a boil and stir 1 minute.
- Stir in chicken pieces and pimento. Cook until thoroughly heated.
- Freeze in a quart-sized freezer bag or serve immediately over puff pastry shells, biscuits, rolls, or toast.

EASY CHICKEN ALA KING OAMC FREEZER READY
An easy, good-enough-for-company, chicken dish that can be frozen. Add elegance by serving on puff pastry shells. This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled.

Steps:
- Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat. Sautee mushrooms and green pepper until peppers are crisp tender. Remove from heat.
- Add flour and pepper - return to heat and simmer on low until bubbly, stirring constantly.
- Add boullion, milk and water. Increase heat slightly and bring to a slow boil. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Stir in chicken and pimento. Heat through.
- At this point, you can serve the ala King over baked puff pastry shells, toast, mashed potatoes, or rice.
- OR allow to cool, then freeze for up to 1 month. To prepare when frozen, allow to thaw in refrigerator overnight, then heat thoroughly in microwave or stovetop. Enjoy!

- Cook and stir drained mushrooms and green pepper in butter or margarine over medium heat for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.

An easy Chicken a la King sauce that comes together fast on the stovetop! Rich, creamy and loaded with a hearty mix of tender chicken, mushrooms, peas, celery, and peppers.

- Add the butter to a large skillet (with a fitted lid) or a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. As soon as the butter has melted, add the diced bell pepper, onion, celery, mushrooms, 1 teaspoon Kosher salt and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. Stir the mixture until evenly coated in the butter. Reduce the heat to medium, cover and cook for about 6 minutes -- just until everything has softened.
- Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables and stir for about 1 minute. Add the chicken broth one big splash at a time, stirring until completely mixed and smooth after each addition.
- Once all of the broth has been incorporated, stir in 1 teaspoon Kosher salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
- Stir the peas and the cream, and bring to a simmer. Simmer for about 5 minutes more, then stir in the chicken.
- Serve over biscuits, rice, or pasta and enjoy!
