1 lb lump crabmeat (shells and cartilage picked out)
6 tbsp mayonnaise
1½ tsp curry powder
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
¼ tsp salt
3 tbsp sliced scallions (white and green parts)
Granny Smith apple (sliced)
Crackers
Cherry tomatoes

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine the crabmeat, mayonnaise, curry powder, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, salt and 2 tbsp scallions. Stir gently to combine.
  • Transfer dip to a bowl and arrange on a platter surrounded by apple slices, crackers and tomatoes. Top with 1 tbsp scallions. Serve immediately or chill, covered, until read to serve.

1 pound cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons madras curry powder
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1/3 cup coconut milk
1/3 cup minced green onions or chives
1/3 cup finely diced red bell pepper
1 pound backfin or claw blue crabmeat

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl combine the cream cheese, curry powder, mayonnaise, coconut milk, green onion, and red bell pepper. Beat until smooth and somewhat creamy. Mix in the crabmeat. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve hot or warm with melba rounds, water crackers, or ginger snaps.

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
3/4 teaspoon curry powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 to 2 teaspoons Sriracha chili sauce, optional
1 can (6 ounces) lump crabmeat, drained
1 tablespoon canola oil
1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
3/4 cup mango chutney
1 tablespoon minced fresh cilantro or chives
Assorted crackers

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, beat cream cheese, lemon zest, curry powder, salt and, if desired, chili sauce; gently fold in crab. Shape into a disk; wrap in plastic. Refrigerate 15 minutes., Meanwhile, in a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add bread crumbs; cook and stir 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer bread crumbs to a shallow bowl., Unwrap disk and press all sides into bread crumbs; place on a serving plate. Spoon chutney over top; sprinkle with cilantro. Serve with crackers.

½ cup dried currants
½ cup boiling water, or as needed
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
⅓ cup coconut milk
⅓ cup minced green onions
⅓ cup minced red bell pepper
2 tablespoons curry powder
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 pound lump crabmeat, picked over

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a casserole dish with nonstick spray.
  • Place currants in a bowl. Add boiling water until just barely covered. Let stand for 15 minutes.
  • Drain currants, and reserve the liquid.
  • Combine cream cheese, coconut milk, green onions, bell pepper, curry powder, and mayonnaise; beat until smooth and creamy. Mix in crabmeat, currants, and reserved liquid. Transfer to the prepared casserole dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes.

16 ounces plain nonfat yogurt
8 ounces cooked backfin crab meat
2 tablespoons chopped green onions
1 -2 tablespoon mango chutney
1 teaspoon curry powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 dash ground red pepper
green onion, sliced (optional)

Steps:

  • Line a large strainer with a double thickness of cheesecloth and place it over a medium bowl.
  • Spoon the yogurt into the strainer.
  • Cover and drain in the refrigerator overnight.
  • Discard any liquid in the bowl.
  • In a separate bowl combine drained yogurt, crabmeat, green onion, chutney, curry powder, salt, and red pepper.
  • Cover and chill till serving time or up to 4 hours.
  • Place crab dip in a serving bowl.
  • Garnish with additional green onion, if desired.
  • Serve with carrots, cucumber, or crackers.

You just can't stop eating this! Think of it as crab-artichoke dip, but with asparagus in place. The asparagus adds texture and color where artichokes get mushy and lost in the dip. I could eat the entire recipe as a meal. It may not make much, but it's worth it! Leftovers can be reheated the same way. RSC4

1/2 large onion, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, divided (1 clove diced)
1/2 teaspoon curry powder, divided
6 asparagus spears, raw,diced
6 ounces tofu
1/2 lb imitation crabmeat (1/2 shredded, 1/2 chopped)
1/4 cup shredded fat free mozzarella cheese
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon grated parmesan cheese (optional)
toasted breadcrumb (optional)

Steps:

  • Saute onion and diced garlic.
  • When colored, add 1/8 tsp curry powder.
  • Saute to incorporate.
  • Add asparagus, crab meat, and 1/8 tsp more curry.
  • Saute to mix.
  • Dump into a mixing bowl and let cool a bit.
  • Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350*F.
  • Blend tofu and 1/4 tsp curry until creamy and mixed.
  • Add to veggie mixture and mix.
  • Add mozzarella cheese and mix.
  • Spread evenly in a small baking dish.
  • Sprinkle with cayenne, parm (if using), and breadcrumbs (if using).
  • Bake, uncovered, for 20 minutes.
  • Serve with pita chips, veggies, or as a bread spread.

3 tablespoons mango chutney (preferably Major Gray), chopped
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
2 scallions, thinly sliced
1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro
1 pound lump crabmeat, picked over
Salt and freshly ground pepper
Mixed sweet potato, vegetable and pita chips, for serving

Steps:

  • 1.In a deep, medium skillet, melt the butter. Add the onion and ginger and cook over moderate heat, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 7 minutes. Add the curry powder and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Add the chutney, cream cheese, mayonnaise and lime juice and cook, stirring, until smooth and creamy, about 1 minute. Stir in the scallions, cilantro and crab, breaking up the crab slightly with the spoon. Season with salt and pepper and cook until the dip is heated through, about 1 minute.
