ITALIAN CHEX PARTY MIX



Italian Chex Party Mix image

Make ahead crunchy, salty, savory Italian Parmesan Chex Party Mix bursting with Italian flavor in each cashew, pretzel, chex bite! This will become your new, easy go-to party snack that everyone will beg you to make!

Number Of Ingredients 14

4 cups Crispix Cereal ( (or 2 cups each: Corn Chex, Rice Chex))
2 cups Wheat Chex
2 cups mini pretzels
2 cups roasted salted cashews
2 cups Cheez-It Grooves original Cheddar ((may sub traditional Cheez-Its))
5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1/3 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp EACH garlic powder, garlic salt, dried basil
1/2 tsp EACH onion powder, dried parsley, dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
1 1/2 cups butterscotch chips ((see my opinion in the post))

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray. Add all Party Mix ingredients to baking pan.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together all of the Herb Butter Sauce ingredients then evenly pour over Party Mix. Toss until Party Mix is evenly coated. Spread mix out into an even layer.
  • Bake at 250 degrees F for 1 hour and 15 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle with 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese. Toss until evenly coated. Let Party Mix cool completely (cereal will crisp as it cools). Toss with butterscotch chips if desired (you can sample some mix with the butterscotch chips to see if you want to add them to the whole thing).
  • Store in an airtight container for up to three days then refrigerate if desired. (Parmesan does not have to be refrigerated immediately due to its low moisture content.)

4 cups Rice Chex
4 cups Corn Chex
1 package (5 ounces) miniature sesame breadsticks
2 cups Goldfish cheddar crackers
1/2 cup mixed nuts
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
3 tablespoons Italian salad dressing
1-1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300°. In a large bowl, combine cereals, breadsticks, crackers and nuts. In a small bowl, mix butter, cheese, salad dressing, Italian seasoning and garlic salt. Drizzle over cereal mixture; toss to coat., Spread in two greased 15x10x1-in. baking pans. Bake 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Cool completely in pans on wire racks. Store in an airtight container.

1/2 cup butter, cubed
3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
5 cups Crispix
2 cups Cheerios
2-1/2 cups miniature pretzels
1 can (10 ounces) mixed nuts
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning and garlic powder. Cover and microwave until butter is melted; stir to combine. , In a large bowl, combine the cereals, pretzels, nuts and Parmesan cheese. Drizzle with butter mixture and mix well. Place in an ungreased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake, uncovered, at 250° for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.

2 cups Cheerios Cereal
2 1/2 cups mini pretzels
1 can (10 oz) mixed nuts
1/4 cup Kraft Parmesan Cheese

Steps:

  • In a saucepan or a microwave safe bowl, heat the first four ingredients until butter is melted; mix well.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cereals, pretzels, nuts and parmesan cheese. Drizzle with butter mixture and mix well. Place in ungreased 15"x10"x1" baking pan.
  • Bake, uncovered, at 250 degrees F for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
