CROQUE MONSIEUR POCKETS



Croque Monsieur Pockets image

1 cup grated Gruyere cheese (about 3 ounces)
1 cup deli-sliced ham, chopped (about 4 ounces)
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1/8 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
Pinch of cayenne pepper
Vegetable oil, for brushing
All-purpose flour, for dusting
1 (11-ounce) tube refrigerated French bread dough
1 large egg

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Mix the gruyere, ham, mustard, nutmeg and cayenne in a bowl until combined. Squeeze the mixture together with your hands to make it compact.
  • Brush a baking sheet lightly with vegetable oil. On a floured surface, roll out the dough and fill the dinner pockets (see Cook's Note).
  • Place the pockets seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Beat the egg and 1 tablespoon water in a small bowl; brush the pockets with the egg wash. Bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes.

1 small cucumber, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
12 pitted black olives, sliced
1/2 cup KRAFT Italian Dressing
4 pita breads, cut in half
1 pkg. (10 oz.) OSCAR MAYER Smoked Ham
1 pkg. (10 oz.) OSCAR MAYER Oven Roasted Turkey Breast, halved
4 KRAFT Singles, halved

Steps:

  • Mix cucumbers, onions, olives and dressing; cover.
  • Refrigerate at least 1 hour to marinate.
  • Fill pita bread halves evenly with ham, turkey and Singles. Top with the vegetable mixture.

1 carton (8 ounces) spreadable cream cheese
1/4 cup sunflower kernels
1 teaspoon seasoned salt or salt-free seasoning blend
4 whole wheat pita breads (6 inches), halved
1 medium tomato, thinly sliced
1 medium cucumber, thinly sliced
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1 ripe avocado, peeled and sliced

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the cream cheese, sunflower kernels and seasoned salt; spread about 2 tablespoons on the inside of each pita half. Layer with the tomato, cucumber, mushrooms and avocado.

I searched for months for a recipe that tastes the same if not better than the store-bought pita chips. After many attempts, I found what everyone seems to think are perfect pita chips! They take barely any time to prepare and go great with spinach artichoke dip! Add Italian seasoning, herbs, or Parmesan cheese for a twist!

1 package pita pockets
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon garlic salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Brush one side of each piece pita pocket with olive oil. Sprinkle the garlic powder, salt, and garlic salt over the pita pockets. Slice each pocket into 4 even triangles.
  • Bake in preheated oven until the triangles turn a light brown color, 15 to 20 minutes.

1-3/4 cups thinly sliced mini cucumbers
3/4 cup fresh peas
