A hearty, savory slow cooker stew with potatoes, carrots, celery, broth, herbs and spices. You won't be slow to say 'yum'!

2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch pieces
¼ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 onion, chopped
1 ½ cups beef broth
3 potatoes, diced
4 carrots, sliced
1 stalk celery, chopped

Steps:

  • Place meat in slow cooker. In a small bowl mix together the flour, salt, and pepper; pour over meat, and stir to coat meat with flour mixture. Stir in the garlic, bay leaf, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, onion, beef broth, potatoes, carrots, and celery.
  • Cover, and cook on Low setting for 10 to 12 hours, or on High setting for 4 to 6 hours.

Hearty, filling and man-pleasing describes this stew. Link sausage, cumin, chilies, and chili powder is what gives this soup its Southwest flavor. This dish is quick, easy, and tastes best when it simmers in a slow cooker or even on the stove all day. Bake some Mexican cornbread, toss a simple green salad, and you have a great meal.

2 pounds ground beef
2 (16 ounce) packages kielbasa sausage, sliced into 1/2 inch pieces
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 onion, chopped
2 (14.5 ounce) cans peeled and diced tomatoes, drained
4 medium baking potatoes, peeled and diced
2 (15 ounce) cans pinto beans, with liquid
2 (15.2 ounce) cans whole kernel corn, with liquid
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chile peppers, with liquid
1 (10 ounce) package frozen mixed vegetables
4 cups water
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons chili powder
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Crumble the ground beef into a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage, garlic and onion; cook and stir until the meat is no longer pink. Drain off grease, and transfer the contents of the skillet to a large pot.
  • Pour the tomatoes into the pot with the meat, and stir in the potatoes, pinto beans, corn, diced tomatoes with chilies, mixed vegetables and water. Season with cumin, chili powder, salt and pepper. Cover, and simmer over medium-low heat for at least 1 hour. Stir occasionally. The longer this stew cooks, the better it gets.

1 (15 ounce) can pork and beans
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can creamed corn
1 (16 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 lb ground beef

1 green bell pepper, chopped

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef, onion, and pepper together. Drain well.
  • Put all ingredients into crock pot; cover and cook on LOW 7 to 12 hours.

1 cup chopped onion
1 pound lean ground beef or ground chuck
1 can (15 ounces) prepared chili beans
1 can (15 ounces) pork and beans
1 can (12 to 15 ounces) cream-style corn
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
Optional: 1 green or red bell pepper, chopped
Garnish: sour cream, shredded cheese, chopped avocado

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it begins to shimmer.
  • Add the onion and bell pepper, if desired. Sauté for 5 minutes or until the vegetables start to soften.
  • Add the ground beef and cook, stirring often and breaking up any large clumps of meat, until no pink remains. Drain well.
  • Combine the beef mixture in the slow cooker with the beans, cream-style corn, and tomato sauce; cover and cook on low for 5 to 8 hours.

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 lb lean ground beef
1 (8 ounce) can low-sodium tomato sauce
1 cup water
3/4-1 cup bottled barbecue sauce
1 -2 medium tomatoes, chopped
8 ounces frozen green beans, thawed in the microwave with a little water
1 cup frozen corn, thawed
2 medium potatoes, cut into bite size pieces
2 medium carrots, cut in pieces
1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
garlic powder
adobo seasoning (optional)
salt & pepper

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef; drain.
  • Place ground beef in crock pot. Add tomato sauce and water, tomatoes, BBQ sauce, green beans, corn and potatoes. You may need to parboil the potatoes if you are cooking the dish only 4-5 hours.
  • Place carrots and water in a microwave and cook for 4 minutes, or until tender. Put carrots in crock pot.
  • Add minced onion. Shake some garlic powder and Adobo over the contents. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Cook on low 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours.
