- In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the flour, salt and pepper. Add beef, a few pieces at a time, and shake to coat., In a large skillet, brown beef in butter on both sides. Transfer to a 3-qt. slow cooker; top with onion. Combine soup and water; pour over onion. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until meat is tender. Serve with noodles.

- 1. Mix flour, salt and pepper together. Dredge the beef in the seasoned flour.
- 2. Heat the butter in a large skillet, and brown the steak in the melted butter, about 3 to 4 minutes each side.
- 3. Add onion, tomato pureé, dill weed, paprika, ground mustard, beef bouillon, and 1 cup water. Bring to a boil.
- 4. Once it reaches a boil, reduce heat to a simmer. Cover skillet, and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. (Check the water level occasionally, and add about 1/4 to 1/2 cup water as needed if liquids begin to boil away).
- 5. Stir sour cream into the pan sauce, cover, and simmer 1/2 hour longer.

This is the first Crock Pot recipe I tried, when I got my first one in 1986. I have tweeked it in the years since. My family loves it, and as my family has grown, so has my Crock Pot and recipe.

- 1. Season meat with garlic salt and pepper, then dredge in flour. (I like to season flour with garlic powder and season salt).
- 2. Heat oil in skillet on high heat, add meat and brown.
- 3. When meat is browned, add meat and onions to the crock pot in layers.
- 4. Pour soups and water on top.
- 5. Cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for4 - 6 hours.
- 6. Serve over rice, and enjoy!

- Dredge steak pieces in flour. In a large skillet, brown steak pieces in vegetable oil. Remove and place in bottom of crock pot.
- In a medium size bowl mix all remaining ingredients EXCEPT sour cream. (Do not drain tomatoes.) Pour mixture over steak in pot.
- Turn crock pot on high for 1st hour. Turn to low for remaining 3 to 4 hours.
- Mix in sour cream during last 30 minutes of crock pot cooking time.
- Note: If thicker gravy is desired: In a small bowl mix together 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water and mix into pot jucies 5 minutes before serving.
- Wonderful served over mashed potatoes!
- Enjoy!
