Creamy Deviled Eggs With Cream Cheese image

Creamy deviled eggs with cream cheese is a refreshing alternative to this traditional favorite. They're an American party food icon for a good reason!

8 hard-boiled eggs, peeled
3 tablespoons mayonnaise, or more as needed
1 tablespoon cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 pinch cayenne pepper
Salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Paprika, for optional garnish

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Cut the peeled eggs in half lengthwise and scoop or pop out the yolks into a mixing bowl.
  • Mash the yolks with the mayonnaise, cream cheese, vinegar, mustard, and cayenne until smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste. If the mixture seems too dry, add a touch more mayonnaise.
  • Using a spoon or a pastry bag with a star tip, generously fill the holes in the egg white halves with the egg yolk mixture.
  • Sprinkle the tops with paprika (if using). Chill well before serving.

My neighbor shared this easy-to-make appetizer with me, and it's been a hit whenever I've served it. I took it to our family reunion last summer and it quickly disappeared! I love it because it's simple, yet tasty.

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1 jar (8 ounces) chutney or spiced peach jam
1/4 cup finely sliced green onions
Snack crackers of choice

Steps:

  • Press softened cream cheese into oiled mold of desired shape. (For easy removal, spray mold with cooking spray and line with plastic wrap if desired.) , Unmold on chilled plate. Pour chutney over mold; sprinkle with onions. Ring plate with crackers (buttery crackers are especially good with this appetizer). Serve immediately.

1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, beat cream cheese and cream until smooth. Beat in the eggs, Parmesan cheese, lemon-pepper and salt. Stir in bacon. , In a large skillet, melt butter; add egg mixture. Cook and stir over medium heat until eggs are completely set.

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

6 hard-cooked large eggs
3 ounces thinly sliced smoked salmon
2 ounces (about 3 tablespoons) cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons sour cream
1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons minced fresh dill
Garnish: dill sprigs

Steps:

  • Cut a paper-thin slice off both ends of eggs and halve eggs crosswise. In a small food processor blend yolks, salmon, cream cheese, sour cream, lemon juice, and salt and pepper to taste until smooth. Add minced dill and process until mixture is just combined. Transfer filling to a pastry bag fitted with a large leaf or other decorative tip.
  • Just before serving, pipe filling into whites, mounding it, and garnish eggs.

  • Slice the hard-boiled eggs in half lengthwise. Scoop out the egg yolks and transfer them to a food processor or mixing bowl if you don’t have a processor; set the egg whites aside.
  • If using a mixing bowl, mash the egg yolks completely until they form a fine powder before adding the rest of the ingredients and mixing until smooth. If using a food processor, add all of the ingredients to the egg yolks (no need to process first), then process until smooth. If the mixture seems too thick, add a drizzle of olive oil.
