BEST BLACKBERRY COBBLER
I've tweaked this recipe a few times, and everyone enjoys it. You can use frozen blackberries, but fresh are best. The lime zest really complements the sweet fruit, and the sour cream pastry is delightful. -Kimberly Reisinger, Spring, Texas

Steps:
- Place the blackberries in a large bowl. Combine the sugar, cornstarch and lime zest; sprinkle over berries and gently toss to coat. Pour into a greased 9-in. square baking dish., In a large bowl, combine the flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda; cut in 5 tablespoons butter until crumbly. Combine sour cream and heavy cream; gradually add to crumb mixture, tossing with a fork until mixture forms a ball. , Roll out to fit top of baking dish; place pastry over filling. Trim and seal edges; cut slits in top. Melt remaining butter; brush over pastry. Sprinkle with remaining sugar., Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 30 minutes. Cover and bake 15-20 minutes longer or until filling is bubbly and crust is golden brown. Cool for 15 minutes before serving.

GRANDMA'S BLACKBERRY COBBLER
This is my grandma's recipe, and I have found none that compare. I always make it with blackberries, but you can use any fruit you want.

Steps:
- Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Whisk 1 1/2 cups sugar, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt together in a small bowl; set aside.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the flour with 1 1/2 cups sugar, baking powder, and another pinch of salt. Mix in the softened butter until the mixture resembles cornmeal, then stir in the milk until moistened. Spread the blackberries into a 9x13-inch baking dish, and spoon the batter evenly over top. Sprinkle with the cornstarch mixture, then pour the boiling water over top.
- Bake in the preheated oven until the mixture is bubbly, and the topping is golden brown, 40 to 45 minutes.

CRACKER BARREL CHOCOLATE COBBLER RECIPE - (4.1/5)

- Melt butter in 11x8-inch pan or dish in a preheated 350°F oven. Combine flour, 3/4 cup of sugar, pecans, 1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa, milk, and vanilla in a small bowl. Spoon over melted butter. Do not stir. Mix 1 cup sugar and the 1 1/2 cups cocoa together, then sprinkle back and forth over the batter. Do not stir. Pour boiling water over top. Do not stir. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes, cool for about 10 to 15 minutes. Best if served warm. Top with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
CRACKER BARREL'S UPSIDE- DOWN COBBLER
This upside-down cobbler is a seasonal favorite at Cracker Barrel. They also sell their own line of cobbler fillings. This is also good with cherry & peach flavors.

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 325^. Melt 1 stick of butter in a 9x13 pan in oven. Remove from oven; sprinkle brown sugar evenly over butter. Spoon blackberry filling evenly over brown sugar; saving some for topping. Set aside.
- 2. Beat remaining butter at low speed with electric mixer until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating until blended. Increase mixer speed to medium; beat mixture 2-3 minutes or until light & fluffy, stopping to scrape bowl as needed.
- 3. Add eggs one at a time, beating at low speed, just until blended. Add vanilla. Gradually add flour and water; beat 1 minute. Scrape bowl; increase mixer speed to medium and beat 2 minutes. Do not overbeat. Batter will be light and smooth.
- 4. Spoon batter over blackberry filling; spread gently to cover. Bake 55-60 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove to wire rack; cool completely. Cut into 12 squares. Lift each square and invert onto serving plate. Top each serving with remaining fruit filling. Microwave 10 seconds on high and serve with ice cream, if desired.
