CREAMY COCONUT DIP



Creamy Coconut Dip image

A simple coconut dip that is made with coconut cream, lime and garlic to give it the full bodied creaminess and coconut flavour.

1/2 cup coconut cream
1/2 teaspoon fish sauce ((or soy sauce))
2 tablespoons maple syrup ((or 1 tablespoon of honey))
1/2 lime ((juiced))
1 clove garlic ((finely minced))
1 tablespoon desiccated unsweetened coconut
1/2 teaspoon onion seeds ((optional, as a garnish))

Steps:

  • In a bowl, add the coconut cream
  • Squeeze fresh lime into the coconut cream and mix it together
  • Finely chop the garlic and add it to the mix
  • Add some maple syrup and fish sauce and adjust it for the salt and sugar balance to your preference. Add more maple if you prefer a sweeter dip.(Note: Fish sauce is a very potent and salty ingredient, if you are going to tweak it experiment with it do it a little bit at a time.)
  • Add 1 tablespoon of dried shredded unsweetened coconut. This will thicken up the dip and give it a bit of texture. Add more if you want a thicker dip
  • [Optional] Adding 1/2 tsp of onion seeds adds a bit more spice and flavour to the dip.
  • Enjoy with snacks! :)

  • Mix cream cheese and cream of coconut in large bowl with whisk until blended.
  • Stir in COOL WHIP.
  • Refrigerate several hours or until chilled.

1/2 cup marshmallow cream
1 teaspoon rum extract
1 (8 ounce) container Cool Whip, thawed

Steps:

  • Place the can of cream of coconut in a bowl of hot water to soften.
  • Beat the cream cheese until creamy.
  • Open the can of cream of coconut and spoon it into the cream cheese. Beat again.
  • Add the marshmallow cream and extract and beat again.
  • Fold 2 cups Cool Whip into the creamed mixture gently. Refrigerate until chilled.
  • Serve with your favorite fruit.

1 (15oz) can cream of coconut (Not coconut milk or coconut cream! Find this in the aisle with the margarita mix & other mixers.)
1 (8oz) tub whipped topping (Cool Whip)

Steps:

  • In a large bowl with an electric hand mixer, beat the cream cheese with the cream of coconut until all lumps are gone.
  • Add the whipped topping and mix again.
  • Serve with fruit or graham crackers. Keep refrigerated.

1 (15 ounce) can cream of coconut
1/4 cup milk
1 (5 1/8 ounce) box instant vanilla pudding
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
2 cups sweetened flaked coconut, toasted and divided
1 (8 ounce) container Cool Whip, thawed

Steps:

  • Add cream of coconut and milk to a stand mixer (or large bowl if using a hand held mixer) and mix on medium speed until smooth. Add pudding mix and sweetened condensed milk and mix thoroughly combined. Fold in a heaping cup of toasted coconut. and cool whip until just combined.
  • Add mixture to a serving bowl and garnish with remaining toasted coconut.
  • Mixture can be put into a graham cracker pie crust and garnished with toasted coconut.
