6 1/3 cups cold water
6 tablespoons ground coffee (caffeine or decaffeinated)
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
5 large ice cubes, to place in each beverage glass

Steps:

  • Add coffee grounds inside filter/basket, and adjust basket to fit coffee maker.
  • Pour cold water into coffee maker.
  • Start brewing the coffee.
  • After coffee's done brewing, turn off coffee maker, and set pot aside for coffee to cool somewhat.
  • Combine brewed coffee and sweetened condensed milk into a large pitcher.
  • Stir thoroughly until coffee and condensed milk is blended together.
  • Refrigerate until coffee is chilled.
  • Once chilled; pour in glasses filled with ice cubes.
  • Note: Prep time and cook time may vary. Depending on your coffee maker. Cook time may take less than time stated, or perhaps a few minutes more.

1 1/2 cups ground coffee
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
Zest of 1/2 orange, cut into thick strips

Steps:

  • Add the ground coffee and pumpkin pie spice to the coffee filter of a drip coffee maker. Add 6 cups of water to the machine. Add the strips of orange zest to the empty carafe.
  • Brew according to the manufacturer's instructions. The orange zest should stay in the carafe as the cups are filled.

  • Line pitcher with coffee filter and add 8 tablespoons of coffee grounds. Add the spices and gently stir. Add the remaining 8 tablespoons of coffee grounds.
  • Once all of the boiling water has been poured through the coffee grounds, remove filter and add another 24 ounces of cold water to the pitcher.
  • In the bottom of a glass, add 1-2 tablespoons of raw sugar. Fill with ice and then pour coffee over the top of the ice. Add desired amount of half and half. Stir to dissolve sugar.

  • Pour ground coffee in a large heat proof bowl or pot. Add in 8 cups boiling hot water. Stir to get all of the coffee grounds wet then let it sit 5 minutes. (Note: if grinding your own coffee, don't grind it too fine or it will go right through your cheese cloth).
  • If you have a french press, put it through the press in a couple batches, otherwise, Place the colander over a clean, heat proof bowl or jug and line the sieve with 6 layers of cheesecloth (this will catch the stray coffee grounds).
  • After the coffee is all strained, discard the coffee grounds and add in 8 cups ice cold water to the coffee. Refrigerate until ready to use. This concentrate lasts 3 weeks to a month in the fridge.
  • To serve, fill a tall glass or mason jar almost to the top with ice. Pour your coffee concentrate to the top of the ice. Add 1-2 Tbsp sweetened condensed milk depending on how much of a sweet tooth you've got. Stir with a spoon until the condensed milk is well incorporated (it tends to sink to the bottom).
