1 cup self-rising flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons plus 1/4 cup baking cocoa, divided
1/2 cup whole milk
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup packed brown sugar
1-3/4 cups hot water
Vanilla ice cream, optional

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar and 2 tablespoons cocoa. Stir in milk and oil until smooth. Pour into a greased 8-in. square baking pan. Combine the brown sugar and remaining cocoa; sprinkle over batter. Pour hot water over top (do not stir). Bake at 350° until top of cake springs back when lightly touched, 40-45 minutes. Serve warm, with ice cream if desired.

This yummy chocolate cobbler is a snap to make and even easier to eat. You get all the gooey deliciousness of a molten cake without all the fuss... Now THAT's sweet! Great for a pot luck or when you're looking for an easy dessert recipe.

2 stick butter
1 1/4 c sugar
1 1/2 c self-rising flour
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 c milk
CHOCOLATE LAYER
1 c sugar
6 Tbsp cocoa powder
2 c boiling water

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350. In a 9x13 glass baking dish, melt the two sticks of butter in the oven for 5 minutes.
  • 2. Meanwhile in a bowl, mix together the 1 1/4 cups of sugar, flour, vanilla, and milk.
  • 3. Once the butter is melted, pour the batter over the butter, but do not stir.
  • 4. In a separate bowl, mix together the cocoa and remaining sugar.
  • 5. Sprinkle cocoa/sugar mixture on top of batter. Do not stir.
  • 6. Pour the 2 cups of boiling water on top of that (don't stir).
  • 7. Bake for 40-45 minutes. I bake mine until I have a nice golden brown crust.
  • 8. Serve warm. Great with ice cream.

6 tablespoons unsalted butter (85 grams, melted and cooled (¾ stick))
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (4 grams)
¾ cup chocolate chips (128 grams)
1½ cups boiling water (341 grams)
Vanilla ice cream (optional, for serving)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter an 8x8-inch baking pan and set aside.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, ⅔ cup sugar, ¼ cup cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, butter, and vanilla until smooth. Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture and stir to combine into a thick batter. Pour into the prepared baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the remaining sugar and cocoa powder. Sprinkle evenly over the batter, then sprinkle on the chocolate chips. Slowly pour the boiling water over the top of the mixture without stirring.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes, until the center is just set. Serve slightly warm with ice cream, if desired.

¾ cup white sugar
1 ½ tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup milk

1 cup white sugar
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ½ cups boiling water

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Melt butter in an 8x8 inch baking dish while the oven preheats.
  • In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, 3/4 cup sugar, and 1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa. Stir in milk and vanilla until smooth. Spoon this batter over the melted butter in the baking dish.

6 tablespoons butter
1 cup self rising flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 1/2 cups boiling water

Steps:

  • Melt butter in 13x9 pan or dish at 350 degrees.
  • Combine flour, 3/4c sugar, pecans, 1-1/2T cocoa, milk and vanilla in a small bowl.
  • Spoon over melted butter.
  • DO NOT STIR.
  • Mix 1c sugar and the 1/4c cocoa together and sprinkle back and forth over the batter.
  • DO NOT STIR.
  • Pour boiling water over top.
  • DO NOT STIR.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min.
  • Cool somewhat.
  • Cover with hot fudge sauce and vanilla ice cream, if desired.

My family loves chocolate cobbler. It is so simple and easy to make it. They are so delicious and sweet.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 c all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
7 Tbsp hershey's cocoa powder, divided
1 1/4 c sugar, divided
1/2 c milk
1/3 c butter, melted
1 1/2 tsp vanilla flavoring
1/2 c packed light brown sugar
1 1/2 c tap hot water

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2. First stir together the flour, baking powder, salt, 3 tablespoons of the cocoa, and 3/4 cup of the white sugar. Reserve the remaining cocoa and sugar.
  • 3. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla to the flour mixture. Mix until smooth.
  • 4. Pour the mixture into an ungreased 8-inch baking dish. I prefer my small oval Corning Ware glass dish.
  • 5. In a separate small bowl, mix the remaining white sugar (it should be 1/2 cup), the brown sugar, and remaining 4 tablespoons of cocoa. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter.
  • 6. Pour the hot tap water over all. DO NOT STIR!
  • 7. Bake for about 40 minutes or until the center is set.
  • 8. Let stand for a few minutes if you can hold yourself back. Serve with homemade ice cream using the gooey sauce to spoon over all.
