1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning
6 bone-in chicken breast halves, skin removed (7 ounces each)
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Additional paprika, optional

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the first 4 ingredients; rub over chicken. Place in a 3-qt. slow cooker. In a large bowl, combine the soup, sour cream and wine; stir in mushrooms. Pour over chicken. , Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or until meat is tender. In a small bowl, mix water and cornstarch until smooth; stir into chicken mixture. Return to a boil, stirring constantly; cook and stir until thickened. If desired, sprinkle with additional paprika.

Chicken Breast with Sour Cream Sauce - The sour cream sauce is flavored with onion, sweet red peppers, garlic, paprika and chicken broth. It has an amazing rich flavor with a smooth and creamy texture.

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 nice size chicken breast cut into chunks (or chicken parts)
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
2 Tablespoons butter
1/2 a medium onion (chopped)
1 sweet red pepper (chopped)
1 Tablespoon minced jarred garlic
1 Teaspoon Paprika
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup sour cream
3 Tablespoons all purpose flour
Salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Place the oil and butter in a large skillet over medium to low heat. Melt the butter, place chicken breast in skillet and brown on both sides, remove from skillet to a platter.
  • 2. Place the chopped onion, sweet red peppers and minced garlic in the skillet and saute until onion is translucent and peppers are tender. Add paprika and blend together.
  • 3. Add chicken broth to the skillet and place chicken breasts in pan to cook covered for 25 minutes or till chicken is tender. Note, using cut up chicken parts ( bone in) will increase the simmering time to about 45 minutes.
  • 4. Remove chicken to a plate and keep warm. Blend the sour cream and flour together, whisk into the liquid in the skillet and cook until thickened, salt and pepper to taste. Pour over chicken. Serve.

1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
½ cup dry white wine
1 (8 ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms

Steps:

  • Mix the salt, pepper, paprika, lemon pepper, and garlic powder together in a bowl; rub evenly onto all sides of the chicken breasts. Place the seasoned chicken into the bottom of a slow cooker. Add the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, white wine, and mushrooms to the slow cooker.
  • Secure the cover onto the slow cooker and cook on Low for 8 hours.

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
2 tablespoons butter
2 green onions, chopped
1 1/2 cups chicken broth, heated
1 tablespoon cornstarch
3 tablespoons cold water
2 tablespoons sour cream
salt

Steps:

  • mix spices and herbs together. dust chicken breats in spice mixture and dredge with flour.
  • heat butter in saute pan over med heat. add chicken and cook 3 minutes. season with salt and turn pieces over and cook another 3 minutes.
  • add green onions to pan and cook 1 minute. pour in chicken broth and cook 6 minutes over low heat. do not cover.
  • remove chicken breasts and set aside on hot serving platter.
  • place saute pan over high heat and cook sauce for 3 minutes.
  • dissolve cornstrach in 3 tablespoons cold water, stir into sauce. conitnue cooking 1 minute. remove pan from heat and let stand 2 minutes.
  • stir in sour cream, mix.
  • server sauce over chicken and potaotes.

This is a delicious tasting chicken recipe with a "zip" to it. The vinegar in the sauce does it. The preperation takes some time, but it's worth it. My father-in-law used to make this and it's one of our favorites.

2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
1/2 cup flour
3 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 shallots, minced
2 cloves garlic
1/4 lb mushroom, sliced
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon tarragon
3 tablespoons tomato paste
1 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon sugar

Steps:

  • Pound the chicken to 1/4" thick.
  • Dredge chicken in flour w/salt& pepper.
  • Combine butter& oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Saute chicken for 2 minutes on each side.
  • Remove when lightly browned on both sides.
  • Add more oil or butter if needed.
  • Saute garlic, shallots, and mushrooms.
  • Add vinegar.
  • Add sugar, seasonings and tomato paste.
  • Scrape all brown bits from pan and mix in with the sauce.
  • Return chicken and cover.
  • Cook for 5 minutes Add sour cream and heat an additional 3 minutes.
  • Serve over rice or pasta.

3 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons onions, chopped
2 garlic cloves
1 tablespoon tomato paste
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups chicken stock
3 tablespoons dry sherry
2 tablespoons almonds, shredded
1 teaspoon fresh dill, minced

3/4 cup sour cream, at room temperature
1/2 cup gruyere cheese, grated

Steps:

  • Saute the chicken on both sides in butter, remove from the skillet. Add the onion and garlic, cook and stir for 2 to 3 minutes. Add tomato paste and flour to the skillet, stir until blended and smooth. Gradually add the chicken stock and sherry, cook and stir until smooth and slightly thickened. Return the chicken to the skillet. Add the almonds, dill, salt, and pepper.
  • Cover and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes on until tender. Arrange the chicken in a shallow baking dish. Stir the sour cream into the sauce and pour over the chicken. Sprinkle with grated cheese and brown under broiler.

8 slices dried beef (in a jar)
8 skinless boneless chicken breast halves (7 ounces each)
4 slices bacon, cut in half
1 cup sour cream
One 10 3/4-ounce can condensed cream of mushroom soup
2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Lay one piece of dried beef on each chicken breast and wrap with a half slice of bacon. Place in a 13 × 9-inch casserole dish, seam side down. Mix sour cream, soup, and mushrooms together. Pour over chicken breasts. Cover and bake for 1 1/2 hours. Serve with rice.
