CHOCOLATE CHERRY FUDGE



Chocolate Cherry Fudge image

This chocolate cherry fudge is unique from others, and festive for the holidays. It's a recipe my husband really enjoys. I've made it for our Homemaker group's Christmas party. -June Lindquist, Hammond, Wisconsin

Yield 4-5 dozen.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup coarsely chopped almonds
1/2 cup chopped candied cherries
1 teaspoon almond extract

Steps:

  • In a microwavable bowl, combine milk and chocolate chips. Microwave on high until chips are melted and mixture is smooth when stirred, about 1 minute. Stir in almonds, cherries and extract. Spread evenly in a greased 8-in. square pan. Cover and chill until firm. Cut into squares. Store, covered, in the refrigerator.

Cherry Ripe Fudge image

This is the easiest fudge I have ever made and one of the best tasting too. It can be made with cherry ripes, marshmallows, nuts and other dried fruits... or just plain.You ca not go wrong with this recipe!

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 can(s) condensed milk
400 gram(s) dark chocolate
3 large bars of cherry ripe
1/2 cup(s) finely sliced red glace` cherries

Steps:

  • Melt chocolate and condensed milk together in a heavy pot. Cool slightly.
  • Add in chopped up Cherry Ripe Bars and the sliced cherries.
  • Pour into a lined (baking paper only)20x30 slice pan and refridgerate till set. Use a hot, sharp knife to cut. You can add Marshmallows, Candied peel, Dried fruit or nuts of your choice... even a dash of rum or Tia Maria. Or serve it plain... your choice. Enjoy!!

ALMOND CHERRY FUDGE

Cooked in the microwave, this fast fudge is a sweet addition to any holiday gathering. I make it when I need a quick treat for a school party or to take to a neighbor. -Shellie Tucker, Hendersonvlle, Tennessee

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup chopped almonds
1/2 cup red candied cherries, chopped
1 teaspoon almond extract

Steps:

  • Line an 8-in. square pan with foil and grease the foil; set aside. In a microwave, melt chocolate chips and milk on high for about 1 minute; stir. Microwave in additional 10- to 20-second intervals until melted; stir until smooth. Stir in the almonds, cherries and extract. Spread into prepared pan. Cover and chill for 2 hours or until set. , Using foil, lift fudge out of pan. Discard foil; cut fudge into 1-in. squares. Store in the refrigerator.

3/4 cup margarine
1/3 cup evaporated milk
3 cups sugar
12 ounces chocolate chips
7 1/2 ounces marshmallow creme
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 ounces cherry chips

Steps:

  • Combine margarine, evaporated milk, and sugar. Heat to rolling boil. Boil for four minutes on medium heat, stirring constantly to avoid scorching.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add chocolate chips, marshmallow creme, and 1/4 cup of the cherry chips to sugar mixture- MIX WELL.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Immediately poor into 9x13 foil lined pan.
  • Microwave remaining cherry chips (about 2 minutes until smooth).
  • Use pastry bag (or ziploc w/ small hole at end) to drizzle the melted cherry chips on top of the fudge.
  • Cool fudge for 4 hours at room temperature.
  • Seal in airtight container.
  • Makes 3 pounds.
