1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup shortening
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup dried cherries
6 ounces chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375.
  • Cream butter, sugars and shortning.
  • Blend in the egg and vanilla.
  • Add in flour, baking soda and salt.
  • Fold in the chocolate and cherries.
  • Place rounded 2 inch balls of on a cookie sheet. Allow room for them to spread. Bake 8-10 minutes until lighty browned.

1 cup dried cherries, chopped
1/3 cup hot water
6 tablespoons shortening
6 tablespoons butter or 6 tablespoons margarine, softened
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 large eggs
3 teaspoons orange zest
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups quick-cooking oats
1 3/4 cups flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • In small bowl, soak cherries in hot water for at least 10 minutes.
  • Do not discard water!
  • In mixing bowl, cream shortening, butter and sugars until fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs, orange peel and vanilla.
  • Combine oats, flour soda, cinnamon and salt and gradually add to creamed mixture beating til combined.
  • Stir in cherries and chips with water you soaked the cherries inches.
  • Drop by rounded tablespoon fulls 2" apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake at 350°F for 12-14 minutes or til edges are lightly browned.
  • Cool 1 minute before removing from cookie sheets to wire rack.

1 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 large egg
2 tablespoons 2% milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup maraschino cherries, well drained and chopped
1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream brown sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, milk and vanilla. In another bowl, mix the flour, salt and baking soda; gradually beat into creamed mixture. Stir in the cherries, coconut and pecans. , Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool.

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling

Steps:

  • In a bowl, cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs, buttermilk and vanilla; mix well. Combine flour, salt and baking soda; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Cover and chill for 1 hour or until firm. , Divide dough in half. On a floured surface, roll each portion to 1/8-in. thickness. Cut with a 2-3/4-in. round cutter. Place half of the circles 2 in. apart on greased baking sheets; top each with a heaping teaspoon of pie filling. Cut holes in the center of remaining circles with a 1-in. round cutter; place over filled circles. Seal edges. , Bake at 375° for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on wire racks.

1 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® DelightFulls Mint Filled Morsels (9-oz. pkg.)
1 cup chopped nuts

Steps:

  • PREHEAT oven to 375°F.
  • COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in DelightFulls morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
  • PAN COOKIE VARIATION: Preheat oven to 350°F Grease 15 x 10-inch jelly-roll pan. Prepare dough as above. Spread into prepared pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack. Makes 4 dozen bars.
  • FOR HIGH ALTITUDE BAKING (3,500 to 6,000 feet): Increase flour to 2 1/2 cups. Add 2 teaspoons water with flour and reduce both granulated sugar and brown sugar to 2/3 cup each. Bake drop cookies for 8 to 10 minutes and pan cookie for 17 to 19 minutes.

Steps:

  • PREHEAT oven to 375°F
  • COMBINE flour and baking soda in small bowl. Beat butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Beat in egg. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels.
  • DROP dough by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets. Press down slightly with bottom of glass dipped in granulated sugar.
  • BAKE for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are set but centers are still soft. Cool on baking sheets for 4 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

  • PREPARE dough as above. Spread dough into ungreased 15 x 10-inch jelly-roll pan. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes. Cool in pan on wire rack.
