2 (10.5 ounce) cans Campbell's® Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 cup milk
½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
6 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
4 (14.5 ounce) cans Del Monte® Green Beans, any style, drained
2 ⅔ cups French's® Crispy Fried Onions

Steps:

  • Stir the soup, milk and half the cheese, 5 tablespoons bacon, black pepper, beans and 1 1/3 cups onions in a 3-quart baking dish.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes or until the bean mixture is hot and bubbling. Stir the bean mixture. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese, onions and bacon.
  • Bake for 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown.

Cheesy Bacon and Green Bean Casserole is creamy, crunchy, and so delicious! Always a huge hit at Thanksgiving celebrations, parties, and pot lucks! If you've been looking for a new green bean casserole recipe, this is it!

2 and 1/2 pounds fresh green beans, ends trimmed
1 pound bacon, fried and chopped
4 and 1/2 Tablespoons unsalted butter
1 large yellow onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups whole milk
1 cup chicken bone broth
3 teaspoons brown sugar
1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt, or to taste
1/2 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
1/3 cup heavy cream
8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, grated
2 ounces Monterey jack cheese, grated
1/3 cup parmesan, finely grated
2 cups French fried onions

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees (F). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish and set aside.
  • Trim the rough ends of the green beans and cut them in half, if desired. Set aside.
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a rolling boil. Blanch the green beans by dropping them into the boiling water and allowing them to par-cook for 4 minutes.
  • Using a slotted spoon, remove them from the boiling water and immediately plunge them into an ice bath to stop the cooking process. Drain the green beans once they're cool, then pat them dry. Place them in the prepared baking dish and set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium-heat, cook the bacon until crispy on both sides, about 4 to 5 minutes per side. Remove from heat and place on a paper towel lined plate. Blot any excess oil with a paper towel, then chop into small bits. Set aside.
  • Drain skillet of any excess bacon grease, then place back over medium-heat. Add the butter and swirl to melt. Add in the chopped onion and cook, stirring frequently, for 4 to 5 minutes, or until softened and nearly translucent. Add in the garlic and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
  • Sprinkle in the flour, and stirring constantly, cook for 1 minute. Slowly pour in the milk and then the broth, stirring constantly as you add.
  • Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture begins to thicken, about 2 minutes. Stir in the brown sugar, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  • Remove the pan from heat. Immediately stir in the heavy cream, then add the cheddar, Monterey Jack, and parmesan. Fold in half of the chopped bacon and half of the French fried onions.
  • Pour sauce over green beans and stir gently to combine. Bake for 25 minutes. Then top with remaining bacon and onions and bake for an additional 5 minutes. Serve warm!

I found this among some recipes my husband's aunt sent me. I tried it once, and it became a family favorite immediately. I save it and use it in the summer when beans are freshest. Then we always have something to look forward to each summer. I often double this recipe just to have enough for my children to have leftovers! You can prepare this ahead of time, but make sure that the casserole is at room temperature before baking. I often use a mixture of both green beans and wax beans in the casserole.

3 cups trimmed green beans, snapped in half
3 slices bacon, diced
6 green onions, chopped
½ cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
¼ cup sour cream
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 pinch salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease a 2 1/2-quart baking dish with a lid.
  • Place the green beans in a large pan with water to cover; bring to a boil and cook only until the beans are hot and bright green, about 1 minute. Drain. Transfer to a large bowl.
  • Cook the bacon in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until evenly browned and crisp, about 10 minutes. Pour off all but 1 tablespoon of the drippings. Return to the heat and add the green onions; cook until the onions have softened, about 2 minutes.
  • Add the bacon mixture, Cheddar cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper to the green beans; stir. Spread the mixture into the prepared baking dish; cover with the lid.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the casserole is bubbling and the beans are tender, about 20 minutes.

1/2 cup(s) onion, chopped
3 tablespoon(s) flour
1 cup(s) milk
12 ounce(s) velveeta cubed
1/2 teaspoon(s) dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon(s) worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon(s) cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon(s) parsley flakes
6 slice(s) bacon cooked and crumbled
2 can(s) green beans
1/2 cup(s) french fried onions
dash(es) paprika

Steps:

  • How to Make it: Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Spray a 1 1/2 quart casserole or other dish or pan. Melt butter in a large saucepan or skillet; add onions and cook until transparent. Add flour and stir until absorbed; gradually stir in milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Stir in cheese until melted. Add dry mustard, beans, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne, parsley and bacon Pour into prepared dish. Sprinkle about a handful of crumbled french fried onions evenly on top. Sprinkle with a pinch of paprika. Bake uncovered until bubbling and golden, about 25 minutes. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

1/2 lb bacon (approx.)
16 ounces frozen green beans
1/2 lb sliced mushrooms
3/4 cup chopped onion
3/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 (16 ounce) jar Cheese Whiz

Steps:

  • Fry bacon until crisp.
  • Drain bacon, reserving 1/4 cup drippings.
  • Crumble bacon and set aside 1/4 cup.
  • Microwave beans as directed on package, drain well.
  • Add onion and mushrooms to reserved bacon drippings and saute them in skillet over medium heat for 10 minutes.
  • Drain, Add bacon, hot cooked green beans and pepper,mixing all lightly.
  • Spoon into 2 quart serving dish.
  • Microwave Cheez Whiz as directed on label.
  • Pour over green bean mixture.
  • Sprinkle top with 1/4 cup of previously reserved bacon.

So I one day Found a version of these and decided to alter this a bit. He still does not like green beans, but will eat these. So I must have done something right!! . . . must have been the cheese, You think??

1 can(s) condensed cheddar cheese soup
3/4 cup(s) milk
1 can(s) french fried onion rings (divided)
3/4 package(s) bacon bits (hormel) or fry yur own, below

- season with pepper, (add salt to your taste.)
- note: you can fry your own bacon, save the bacon grease, and then pour your cans of green beans in the drippings. this is great added flavor. and is my favorite way and cheaper too on the budget.

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350.
  • In Bowl Combine: green beans. soup, milk, 1/2 the fried onion rings, 1/2 of the bacon bits. toss well Season with Pepper & onion Pdr.
  • BAKE: in 8X8 or 9X9 casserole dish 30 minutes SERVE: Topped with the remaining onions & Bacon bits.

2 (16 ounce) packages frozen cut green beans
1 cup water
1 pound sliced fresh mushrooms
¾ cup chopped onion
¾ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 (16 ounce) jar processed cheese sauce

Steps:

  • Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble, and set aside. Reserve 1/4 cup of bacon drippings in the skillet.
  • Place green beans and water in a medium saucepan, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 6 minutes, or until tender but crisp; drain.
  • Place mushrooms and onion into the skillet with the reserved bacon drippings. Cook and stir over medium-high heat for 10 minutes; drain. Reserving 2 tablespoons for topping, mix the crumbled bacon into the skillet. Stir in the green beans. Season with pepper, and transfer to a 2 quart baking dish.
  • Melt the cheese sauce in the microwave, and pour over the green bean mixture. Sprinkle with reserved bacon, and serve.
