TARTIFLETTE (FRENCH CHEESE AND POTATO CASSEROLE)

Steps:

• Place potatoes into a large pot and cover with salted water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain and cool until easily handled. Peel and slice potatoes.
• Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat and cook onions until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add potatoes and bacon, cover, and simmer over medium-low heat for 15 minutes. Add wine, salt, and pepper.

Remove from the heat., Stir in the cheeses until melted. Add potatoes; stir gently to coat. Transfer to a greased 2-1/2-qt. baking dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice., In a small skillet, melt the remaining butter. Add bread crumbs; cook and stir over medium heat until lightly browned. Sprinkle over potato mixture. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 40-45 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
