½ cup caramel topping
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
6 large baking apples, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch slices
⅔ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup packed brown sugar
½ cup cold butter, cut into small pieces
⅔ cup quick cooking oats

Steps:

  • Preheat an oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Stir the caramel topping and cinnamon together in a bowl. Toss in the apples, mixing until evenly coated. Spread apple mixture into an 8-inch square baking dish.
  • Mix flour and brown sugar into the same bowl used to mix the apples. Cut in the butter with a knife or pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the oats, then crumble over the apples.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown, 45 to 50 minutes.

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 ¾ cups quick cooking oats
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ cup butter, softened
¼ cup shortening
½ cup packed brown sugar
4 ½ cups peeled and chopped favorite apples

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, oats, salt and baking soda.
  • In a large mixing bowl, blend together butter, shortening and sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Add dry mixture and blend to form a crumbly mixture.
  • Measure and set aside 2 cups crumbs. Press remaining crumbs into a 9x13 inch pan. Spread apples into an even layer over crust.
  • Transfer Marzetti Old Fashioned Caramel Dip to a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 30 to 40 seconds or until warm. Stir until smooth. Pour over apples and sprinkle remaining crumbs over all.
  • Bake on middle rack of oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until top is golden brown and apples are tender. Cut into desired size bars while slightly warm and serve.
  • Store remaining bars covered in refrigerator.

5 large Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
½ cup white sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
¼ cup water
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup quick cooking oats
1 cup butter, softened
1 (14 ounce) package individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 F (175 degree C).
  • In a medium size bowl, toss apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, lemon juice, and water; spread evenly into a 8x8 inch pan. In another bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, oats, and butter; spoon mixture evenly over apples.
  • In a heavy sauce pan over low heat, melt the caramels with the evaporated milk. Heat , stirring frequently, until mixture has a smooth consistency. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the top of the crumble.

2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons 2% milk, divided

1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
PIE:
6 cups sliced peeled tart apples
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 unbaked pastry shell (9 inches)
28 caramels
1 can (5 ounces) evaporated milk

Steps:

  • Combine flour, brown sugar, butter and cinnamon; spread into an ungreased 8-in. square baking pan. Bake at 400° for 6-8 minutes or until golden brown. Cool; crumble and set aside. Sprinkle apple with lemon juice. Combine sugar, flour and cinnamon; toss with apples. Place apples in pie shell. Cut a circle of foil to cover apples but not the edge of pastry; place over pie. Bake at 425° for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 375°; bake for 35 minutes or until apples are tender., Meanwhile, in a saucepan over low heat, melt caramels with milk, stirring frequently. This is the most wonderful apple pie, and one of my family's favorites!... of coarse, if you prefer, this pie may be made with your favorite homemade pie crust, or use my recipe#66929 for this. (note: this pie is best prepared with Granny Smith apples, as these apples seem to hold up better, and not become soft and soggy when baked). Hint: my advise to you is...better prepare two of these, as they will go fast, this pie is so delicious!

4 apples, peeled cored and cut into wedges (Granny Smith apples are best)
2/3 cup flour, plus
2 tablespoons flour
1 (9 inch) frozen ready to bake deep dish pie shells, thawed or 1 (9 inch) use my no-fail butter pie crusts, Kittencal's No-Fail Buttery Flaky Pie Pastry/Crust
25 vanilla caramels (about half of a 14 oz pkg)
1 tablespoon water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup butter (no substitutions)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Set oven to 375 degrees.
  • In a large bowl, combine the apples, and 2 Tbsp flour, tossing to coat the apples; spoon into the thawed (unbaked) pie shell.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the caramels and water over medium heat, stirring until the caramels melt, and the mixture is smooth.
  • Spoon the caramel mixture evenly over the apples in the pie crust.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the remaining 2/3 cup flour, the sugar, cinnamon and butter, stirring until crumbly.
  • Add in the walnuts; mix well.
  • Sprinkle over the pie and place the pie plate on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the apples are tender.
  • Serve warm, or allow to cool completely before serving.

1 cup light corn syrup
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 wooden sticks
8 medium tart apples
Unsalted peanuts, chopped

Steps:

  • In a heavy 3-qt. saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, corn syrup and milk; bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Cook and stir until mixture reaches 248° (firm-ball stage) on a candy thermometer, about 30-40 minutes. Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla. Insert wooden sticks into apples. Dip each apple into hot caramel mixture; turn to coat. Set on waxed paper to cool. If desired, roll the bottom of the dipped apples into chopped peanuts.
