No drippings are needed for this very simple and super quick homemade brown gravy that's perfect for mashed potatoes, meatloaf or even French fries. You'll never use packet gravy again.

- Whisk together the beef stock, cornstarch, onion powder, soy sauce and bouillon cube in a medium saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, whisking occasionally, and cook until slightly thickened, about 1 minute. Turn off the heat and whisk in the heavy cream.

- To use the homemade brown gravy mix:
- Mix 4 tbsp of the mix with 1 cup of cold water. Whisk until smooth. Heat in a small saucepan over medium hit stirring constantly until it thickens.
- Optional preparation with butter:
- Heat 1 tbsp of butter in a pan. Add 4 tbsp of the gravy mix. Stir it around in the melted butter for a minute. Add 1 cup of water and whisk until smooth. Bring to a boil and cook for a minute or two. The gravy will start to thicken.

- 1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl
- 2. Mix slowly, as it is really poofy .
- 3. Store in an airtight container.
- 4. Add 3 tablespoons of this mix to 1 1/2 cups water into a pan and bring to a boil.. turn down heat and simmer for 1 to 2 minutes. Sometimes I will add a tablespoon of butter to this gravy.
- 5. I usually double this if I am making gravy with slices of beef, pork or venison because I like this for leftovers.
- 6. This makes a wonderful tasting gravy but you can add other spices or you can add a little leftover coffee or kitchen bouquet to your gravy for added color and flavor..if you want.
- 7. The best part of this mix is that I can add a tablespoon or 2 of this powder to soups or stews to thicken broth and add extra flavor.
