EASY MACARONI TUNA CASSEROLE
This dish is super easy. It is also a very hearty delicious bowl of comfort food. The guys in my house loved it. I loved this recipe but I used cream of mushroom soup and added the cheese into the casserole. I also melted butter and added bread crumbs to the top before baking, then sprinkle top lightly with dill seasoning. The resulting casserole was very creamy and flavorful.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 2-quart baking dish.
- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook elbow macaroni in the boiling water, stirring occasionally until cooked through but firm to the bite, 8 minutes. Drain and return macaroni to pot.
- Stir 1/4 cup butter, 1/4 cup milk, and powdered cheese from envelope into the cooked macaroni. Stir cream of mushroom soup, tuna, and 1/2 cup milk into the macaroni and cheese. Pour macaroni mixture into the prepared baking dish; top with Cheddar cheese and parsley.
- Mix bread crumbs, melted butter, and dill in a small bowl; sprinkle over Cheddar cheese layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven until cheese is melted and bread crumb topping is lightly browned, about 20 minutes.

- Preheat oven to 350°. Cook noodles according to package directions; drain. Transfer to a shallow 3-qt. or 13x9-in. baking dish coated with cooking spray. , Meanwhile, in a large nonstick skillet, heat butter over medium-high heat. Add onion; cook and stir until tender. In a small bowl, whisk cornstarch, milk and seasonings until smooth; stir into pan. Stir in broth. Bring to a boil; cook and stir until thickened, about 2 minutes. Stir in 3/4 cup cheese until melted; stir in broccoli and tuna., Spoon over noodles; mix well. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Toss bread crumbs with melted butter; sprinkle over casserole. Bake, covered, 45 minutes. Uncover and bake until cheese is melted, 15-20 minutes longer. Freeze option: Cool unbaked casserole; cover and freeze. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Preheat oven to 350°. Bake casserole as directed, increasing time as necessary to heat through and for a thermometer inserted in center to read 165°.

This is what happened the night before we left for vacation when there was not a fresh veggie in the house, The milk was very low and no thawed meat. Instead of running to the store, I did a pantry casserole. Definitely not too healthy, but it is pretty darn good!

Steps:
- Prepare shells and cheese dinner according to package direction; drain but do not rinse.
- Return cooked shells to hot pot.
- Add in liquid cheese packet (from the shells & cheese dinner), condensed soup, milk, tuna, thawed broccoli, onion and garlic powder.
- Gently stir to mix well.
- Pour into a casserole dish.
- In a small bowl, mix together melted butter and breadcrumbs.
- Sprinkle the buttery breadcrumbs on top of the casserole.
- Bake; uncovered for 25-30 minutes.

I call this a classic tuna casserole because it is made with a boxed macaroni and cheese and the basic ingredients we all grew up with. This is comfort food at it's best, my two favorites mixed together. This is so good that I took a picture of it after having it for dinner and decided it should be shared on my favorite recipe site. - Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
- Bring 6 cups water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Stir in macaroni from the box and cook for 7 minutes. Drain macaroni, then rinse under cold water and drain again. Set cheese sauce packet aside.
- Melt butter in the same saucepan over medium heat. Add milk and cheese sauce packet; mix well. Stir in condensed soup and cook until heated through, about 3 minutes.
- Combine drained macaronis, peas, and tuna in a bowl. Fold in the cheesy soup mixture. Pour mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with Cheddar cheese, then sprinkle French-fried onions over top. Bake until onions are brown and cheese is melted, another 5 minutes.

- Chop the broccoli into small florets. Bring a large pot of water with salt to boil and add the pasta. Boil for 10 minutes, then add the broccoli and boil for another 2-3 minutes or until desired tenderness is reached. Drain in a colander and set aside.

- Preheat oven to 375°F. Butter a 2 1/2-quart casserole dish and set aside. Stir pasta from both boxes into a large saucepan of boiling water. Cook uncovered for 6 to 7 minutes (2 to 3 minutes less than noted on the box), until al dente. Drain the pasta and return to the saucepan. Stir in packets of cheese mix from both boxes, 8 tablespoons of butter and 1/2 cup of milk.
- Stir in the thawed broccoli, tuna and additional 1/2 cup of milk. Pour into the prepared casserole dish.
- Place the Bugles™ in a zip-top bag and seal. Crush the Bugles™ with a rolling pin or mallet. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Mix the butter with the crushed Bugles™ and sprinkle mixture on top of the casserole.
- Cover the casserole with foil and bake until the sides are bubbly and the casserole is heated through, about 20 to 25 minutes. Uncover and broil on high until lightly browned, about two minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes to cool.
