BREAKFAST MICE
A cute variation of the deviled egg to serve to the kids. Can also be a great food to serve for breakfast (hence the name), a themed party or Halloween. By the Editors of Easy Home Cooking Magazine.

Steps:
- Gently scoop egg yolks into small bowl.
- Mash yolks, mayonnaise and salt until smooth.
- Spoon yolk mixture back into egg halves.(Do not heap).
- Place 2 halves, cut side down, on each serving plate. (on top of lettuce or spinach leaves if using)
- Cut two tiny slits near the narrow end of each egg half; position 2 radish slices on (or into) each half for ears.
- Use the root end of each radish to form tails.
- Push raisins (or currants) into each egg half to form eyes.
- Place small pile of cheese in front of each mouse.

SAVOURY MINCE
An old family favourite for a Sunday night dinner or a weekend breakfast. It is a basic recipe. You can add anything else you feel like to this recipe to make it go further, for example, peas, carrots or beans.

Steps:
- Heat butter or oil in a large pan, add onion and garlic.
- Sauté until onion is transparent.
- Increase heat, add mince and dash of Worcestershire sauce- stir often to break up the lumps of mince and cook until mince has browned.
- Drain fat or liquid residue.
- Add the crumbed stock cube, herbs, gravy powder, salt and pepper.
- Make sure the gravy powder is combined with the mince so it does not go lumped when the water is added.
- Slowly add the water to the mince mixture stirring all the time.
- Bring to boil, reduce to simmer and cover and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- If mince needs thickening add a little cornflour (ie 1 tsp) in water to the mix to thicken.
- Serve on buttered toast or with rice or mashed potatoes and steam vegetables.

- In a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat, fry the chopped onion on two tablespoons of butter until soft. Add the pound of minced meat, stir well and fry together for several minutes or until meat is no longer pink.
- Stir in one tablespoon tomato mark, two cloves sliced garlic and teaspoon of paprika, and continue to cook until all the meat juice is evaporated. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
- With a spoon, make 4 dents in the meat mixture and break eggs into each "hole". Lower the heat to medium, cover the skillet with a lid, and simmer until the eggs are cooked to your liking, about 5-8 minutes. Alternatively, put the skillet (uncovered) in the 350 degrees Fahrenheit preheated oven and bake until eggs are done.
