- Once you start slicing off the thick skin of the breadfruit, you will notice the white sap oozing out through tiny pores of the fruit. It tends to stick onto the knife, making it difficult to cut through the breadfruit skin. There are two ways to avoid this. 1/ apply a little oil onto the knife only make sure the oil doesn’t get onto the handle.
- 2/An easier way would be to heat the knife over a flame when the knife is full of sap for a few seconds and then wiping it off with a tissue.
- If you do get it on your hands, pour a teaspoon of oil rub vigorously and use warm soapy water to get rid of it but personally I would ask you to use disposable gloves.
