BOURBON MINT ICED TEA

Number Of Ingredients 4

8 cups cold water
2 family sized black tea bags
15 mint leaves plus more for garnish
2 o ounces of bourbon per cocktail

Steps:

  • Add the cold water into a medium sauce pan.
  • Turn the heat on medium to high.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Once at a boil remove the pot from the heat.
  • Add the teabags and the mint leaves.
  • Allow to steep for 15 minutes.
  • Pour the tea through a strainer into a pitcher.
  • This will remove the tea bags and mint leaves.
  • Add 1 ½ cups of sugar.
  • Stir for 2-3 minutes
  • Allow the tea to cool for 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  • Fill an glass with ice.
  • Add 2 oz of bourbon.
  • Top off with sweet tea.
  • Garnish with mint leaves.
  • ENJOY!!

4 cups boiling water
1 cup sugar
12 black tea bags
6 cups cold water
3 cups crushed ice, plus more for serving
24 ounces bourbon (approximately one 750 milliliter bottle)
Garnish: 16 mint sprigs
Garnish: 16 lemon slices

Steps:

  • Combine the boiling water and sugar in a heatproof container and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Add the tea bags and steep for 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and discard.
  • Pour the tea mixture into a heatproof pitcher or serving jar. Add the cold water, bourbon and ice. Stir well, and refrigerate until serving.
  • To serve, divide between 16 ice-filled highball or Old Fashioned glasses.
  • Garnish each glass with a lemon slice and a mint sprig.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 large lemon, cut into 8 slices
1/2 c sugar
1/3 c mint leaves
1/2 c fresh orange juice (4 oz.)
1/2 c fresh lemon juice (4 oz.)
1 c bourbon (8 oz.)
4 c ice cubes (more or less depending on how large your pitcher is)
1 qt unsweetened iced tea (40 oz.)

Steps:

  • 1. In a two-quart pitcher, muddle or mash the lemon wedges, sugar and mint leaves with a large wooden spoon until a thick syrup forms. Add the orange juice, lemon juice and bourbon and stir to combine. Fill the pitcher with ice cubes and add the iced tea, then stir to combine.

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Place the mint leaves and sugar or simple syrup into a julep cup, collins glass, or double old-fashioned glass.
  • Muddle well to dissolve the sugar and release the oil and aroma of the mint.
  • Add the bourbon.
  • Fill the glass with crushed ice and stir well until the glass becomes frosty.
  • Garnish with a mint sprig. Serve with a straw and enjoy.
