Besides being a refreshing beverage, this Bourbon Mint Iced Tea has the bonus of having a bourbon kick to it. Of course if you don't drink alcohol you can leave it out. Recipe found at www.Jamhands.net

Number Of Ingredients 8

Ingredients

1 large lemon, cut into 8 slices
1/2 c sugar
1/3 c mint leaves
1/2 c fresh orange juice (4 oz.)
1/2 c fresh lemon juice (4 oz.)
1 c bourbon (8 oz.)
4 c ice cubes (more or less depending on how large your pitcher is)
1 qt unsweetened iced tea (40 oz.)

Steps:

1. In a two-quart pitcher, muddle or mash the lemon wedges, sugar and mint leaves with a large wooden spoon until a thick syrup forms. Add the orange juice, lemon juice and bourbon and stir to combine. Fill the pitcher with ice cubes and add the iced tea, then stir to combine.

8 cups water
1/2 cup sugar
8 teabags black tea
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
2 cups bourbon

Steps:

In a large saucepan, boil 4 cups water. Add sugar; stir to dissolve. Remove from heat; add teabags. Steep 10 minutes; discard teabags. Add 4 cups cold water; transfer to a pitcher, and chill. Add mint leaves. Using a wooden spoon, crush mint until fragrant; stir in bourbon. Serve over ice.
