SAUSAGE CHEESE BALLS

I've been making these around Christmas for years and everyone loves them, they work well also when my husband needs something to take to an office party.

Number Of Ingredients 5

32 oz bob evans uncooked sausage
1 1/2 c bisquick
16 oz shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 c finely chopped onion
1/2 tsp garlic powder

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  • 2. Mix all ingredients
  • 3. Form into 1 inch balls
  • 4. Bake 20 minutes until golden brown
  • 5. Makes approximately 6 dozen
  • 6. For firmer texture add 3 extra cups of Bisquick and 2 extra cups of cheddar cheese to the ingredients
  • 7. Sausage balls can be frozen uncooked for later use

Sausage is rolled up in biscuit dough for a great hand-held snack. Perfect for a brunch buffet as well as being a delicious and economical recipe that everyone will love.

1 pound Bob Evans® Original Recipe Sausage Roll, at room temperature
1 (8 ounce) can crescent roll dough

Steps:

  • Remove the crescent roll dough from the can. Do not separate rolls. On top of a piece of plastic wrap or aluminum foil, pinch the triangles together and then pinch the rectangles together to form a long rectangle that is about 18 x 4 inches, gently pulling dough as needed.
  • Carefully spread the sausage in an even layer over the dough. Roll the dough lengthwise to form a long roll. Wrap in the plastic wrap or foil. Freeze for 15 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Using a serrated knife, cut dough into 1/2 inch thick slices. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 15-20 minutes, or until the sausage is cooked through. Drain off any juices. Serve hot. Refrigerate leftovers.

1/3 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder

Steps:

  • Mix dry ingredients together with about 1 tbsp of water,pour over sausage and mix well. Shape into patties or crumble and fry.
