- Combine the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, black pepper, cayenne pepper, basil, and oregano in a bowl until evenly mixed. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.

BLACK SPICE
This was inspired by a dish we saw listed on the menu at Tabla, an "haute Indian" restaurant in Manhattan. The aroma is very intriguing and the flavor is lovely. Use on chicken, fish, whatever suits your fancy.

Steps:
- Combine all spices except for black salt in a small saucepan and toast until fragrant.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool.
- Grind whole spices in a spice grinder or mortar and pestle.
- Mix in black salt and store.

SUPER SPICED BLACK TEA
This is my version of the traditional Spiced Black tea. I tried to include a good number of spices to make it super tasty! It's quite good hot but not so good chilled. Note: I've listed things in teaspoons because this website won't let me list it in parts, but it's technically in a ratio, so you can make whatever quantity you want.

- Assemble all the ingredients and place in a tea ball. Note: If you don't own a tea ball, then you can put the ingredients directly in the water and then strain out later.
- Place tea ball in hot water and steep for 10 minutes.

- In a skillet, over high heat, toast the cumin seeds until fragrant. (about 1-2 minutes). Don't let seeds burn.
- In a spice grinder jar, add toasted cumin seeds, black pepper, dried oregano, dried thyme, and chili flakes. Pulse until ground finely. (about a minute. Make sure black pepper is fine ground.)
- Pour spices into a container (air tight). Add remaining spices listed in ingredients. Secure the lid. Shake well to mix the seasoning. Use as required in the recipe. Store in cool dark place.
