Pick out your LED Fixtures or Canless LED Fixtures. LED recessed light fixtures are generally the best option when it comes to choosing recessed lights for a ceiling, as they run cooler than other light sources.
Layout your lighting. Use graph paper to make a scale drawing of your room or planning software online to plan where each light should go. You should space them out thinking about your ceiling height, focal points, and focusing on how bright the room's ambient light will be.
Establish supports. When installing recessed lights into a drop ceiling, it is important to make sure that the weight of the lights is supported. Extra wire supports should be installed over the tile to help hold the lights, one wire for each of the four corners of the tile.
Cut holes. Using the light's outline, trace the light's outline on each ceiling tile where a recessed light will be added. This should be done in the exact center of the tile double checking that the opening size is made according to the installation instructions.
Position the lights. After cutting the hole, the next step is to position the light fixture. To do this, take out the panel next to the panel that was just cut, and place the light over the cut panel, making sure it is positioned directly over the hole.
