Number Of Ingredients 7

1/2 cup 2 percent milk
6 ounces vanilla ice cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla paste
10 dates, pitted
1 banana, broken into large pieces
6 ounces bourbon
6 to 8 ounces sweetened whipped cream

Steps:

  • Add the milk, vanilla ice cream, vanilla paste, dates, banana and 4 ounces bourbon to a blender. Blend on high until well mixed and smooth.
  • Divide evenly among 4 chilled glasses, adding about 1/2 ounce bourbon "float" atop each shake.
  • Finish with the whipped cream and serve immediately with a milkshake or bubble tea straw.

1/4 cup water
3 cups vanilla ice cream
1 cup 2% milk

Steps:

  • In a microwave-safe dish, combine dates and water; microwave, covered, on high for 30-45 seconds or until dates are softened. Cool completely., Place date mixture in a blender; cover and pulse until pureed. Add ice cream and milk; cover and process until blended. Serve immediately.

This is so good and super easy to throw together. The recipe goes way back to when I lived in Laguna Beach. We used to have them often.

1 cup low-fat plain yogurt
1/2 cup skim milk, 1% is fine too
1/2 cup dates, fresh, pitted and chopped
2 bananas, sliced
8 ice cubes

Steps:

  • Place everything in blender and blend until the ice cubes are well incorperated.
  • Serve in two chilled glasses.

  • Place the banana, blueberries, dates, almond butter, vanilla extract, and almondmilk in a high powered blender (if you do not have a high-powered blender, I recommending blending the milk and half of the frozen fruit first, then slowing adding the rest of the fruit and remaining ingredients).
  • Blend until smooth. If you would like the shake a bit thicker, add a few ice cubes and blend again. Taste and add additional almond butter if you'd like the shake a little richer or another date if you'd like it sweeter. Pour and enjoy!
