4 pints (8 cups) fresh strawberries, sliced thick
5 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 pints vanilla ice cream, for serving
Freshly grated lemon zest, for serving

Steps:

  • Thirty minutes to an hour before serving, combine the strawberries, balsamic vinegar, sugar, and pepper in a bowl. Set aside at room temperature.
  • Place a serving of the strawberries in a bowl with a scoop of ice cream on top and dust lightly with lemon zest.

Steps:

  • Boil 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar with 2 tablespoons honey, 1 bay leaf and a pinch of salt until thick, 4 minutes. Discard the bay leaf; let the syrup cool. Beat 1 cup mascarpone, 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1 tablespoon sugar and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla with a mixer until soft peaks form. Toss 3 pints quartered strawberries with half of the balsamic syrup. Serve with the mascarpone mixture and the remaining syrup.

For valentines day I wanted to do something special. Of course I had bought strawberries, and I almost always soak in balsamic (we love to eat this way) And the winning meat was porkchops. So Im up all night cant sleep, Thats when I like to experiment and pull different recipes together. I tasted and im sure my family is going to enjoy my valentine dinner. Im sure I will be enjoying on grill in summer.

1 quart(s) strawberries (hulled and cleaned)
4-6 - pork chops any cut)
1 cup(s) balsamic vinegar
2 - sliced onions
1/4 cup(s) powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Place strawberries in bowl with balsamic vinegar. Meanwhile salt and pepper porkchops, let sit for 15min then add pork chops to large ziplock bag and refriderate for at least an hour.
  • s&p and drizzel with olive oil chops. Place pork chops on grill pan and grill each side for nice grill marks. 2 min per side. In another pan boil your marinate making sure comes to full boil (remember had raw meat, but perfectly safe) You want to keep bubbleing for a good five min. Then turn to med to simmer for another 15min.
  • Meanwhile carmalize your sliced onions in butter, when starting to soften add powdered sugar. When finished add to strawberry reduction.
  • Place porkchops in 350 oven pour balsamic reduction over pork chops cover with foil and bake 20-30 min depending on size thermomitor should read 165. Flipping chops and brushing both sides of porkchops halfway thru bakeing time. When done let chops rest covered for 10 min. Serve with sides. I served with rice.
  • If your leary about the marinade it can be done same way but discard marinade from chops and make new reductions.

2/3 C balsamic vinegar
1 TBL brown sugar
3 3
TBL strawberry jelly
S & P to taste
LAMB:
4 lamb loin chops (5-6 oz each) seasoned w/ S & P
1 C quartered fresh strawberries
2 TBL chopped fresh mint or basil

Steps:

  • PREHEAT grill to med-high brush grill grate w/ oil FOR THE SAUCE, HEAT vinegar & brown sugar in saucepan over med-high until mixture boils reduce heat to med reduce mix by 1/2 - abt 7 min WHISK IN jelly until dissolves bring to boil cook mixture until thickens & is syrupy - abt 3 min more season sauce w/ S & P FOR THE LAMB, GRILL chops, uncovered, abt. 4 min per side for med-rare transfer chops to plate, tent w/ foil, let rest 3-4 min serve chops topped w/ sauce, fresh strawberries & mint

2 tablespoons chopped green onion
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons dried rosemary, crushed
1/2 to 1 teaspoon pepper
4 bone-in pork loin chops (1 inch thick and 6 ounces each)
1 tablespoon canola oil
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries (1/4-inch slices)

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the vinaigrette, onion, brown sugar, paprika and Worcestershire sauce; set aside. Combine rosemary and pepper; rub over both sides of pork chops. , In a large skillet, cook chops in oil over medium-high heat for 5-6 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 160°. Pour vinaigrette mixture over meat; cook 3-4 minutes longer or until pork juices run clear. , Remove chops and keep warm. Add strawberries to the cooking juices and toss to coat; serve with pork chops.

¼ cup white sugar
