Baked Brie with walnuts and maple syrup. A party favorite! I use a can of finest light AA grade Quebec maple syrup for this.

1 (14 ounce) round Brie cheese
1 cup chopped walnuts
2 cups real maple syrup (fine light grade)
1 18-inch French baguette, cut into 3/4-inch slices

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 200 degrees F (95 degrees C). Place the unwrapped Brie cheese into a baking dish, sprinkle with walnuts, and pour maple syrup over the nuts and cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the cheese warms and softens, about 10 minutes. Serve cheese with slices of baguette.

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Place the brie on a sheet pan covered with parchment paper and drizzle with the honey. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes, or until it starts to ooze but not melt. Serve with crackers.

1 small wheel of Brie or Camembert (about 9 ounces)
1/2 cup pecan pieces
3 tablespoons light-brown sugar
3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
crackers or sliced baguette, for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place cheese on a rimmed baking sheet; bake until softened, 15 to 20 minutes. Transfer to a serving plate; cool about 20 minutes.
  • While cheese cools, place nuts on a clean baking sheet; bake until toasted and fragrant, 7 to 10 minutes. Sprinkle nuts over cheese.
  • In a small saucepan, combine sugar and maple syrup. Bring to a boil over medium heat; simmer until foamy, 1 to 2 minutes. Drizzle warm sauce over slightly cooled cheese and nuts; serve with crackers or baguette.

The best word we could come up for this baked Brie recipe is divine. Real maple syrup makes this pastry sing by creating a glaze and giving the dish a sweet flaky crust. Serve with fruit or crackers. It's an easy Hors d'oeuvre and very impressive when served. Don't like almonds or are allergic to them? Leave them out. The warm maple syrup alone over the Brie will be fantastic.

1 - puff pastry sheet, thawed
1 - large, medium Brie wedge
EGG WASH
1 - egg white
1 tablespoon(s) water
WARM SYRUP TOPPING
1 cup(s) maple syrup
1/2 cup(s) sliced almonds
ACCOMPANIMENTS
- water crackers
- sliced apples
- grapes

Steps:

  • For the Brie, preheat oven to 400. Once pastry sheet is thawed place the whole wedge of brie, with rind, on the pastry sheet.
  • Fold over top to wrap.
  • Brush top and sides with egg wash.
  • Bake in the oven for 20 minutes.
  • Allow to sit for 5 minutes.
  • For maple syrup and almonds: Into a small saucepan, pour in maple syrup and add almonds. Heat slowly.
  • To serve: Once Brie is done and has rested for 5 minutes, put on a serving plate. Slowly pour warm maple syrup and almonds on top.
