Hibiscus Lime Vodka Tonic Recipes

HIBISCUS GIN-AND-TONIC

Steps:

• Bring the hibiscus flowers, sugar and 1/2 cup water to a boil in a small saucepan. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer, stirring, until the sugar is dissolved, about 2 minutes. Transfer to a small bowl and refrigerate until chilled, at least 1 hour or overnight.
• Strain the hibiscus syrup into a liquid measuring cup, reserving some of the flowers for garnish. Combine the gin, lemon juice and 1/4 cup of the hibiscus syrup in a small pitcher. Stir in the tonic. Add more hibiscus syrup to taste.
• Fill 4 glasses with ice. Pour in the cocktail and garnish with the reserved hibiscus flowers.

HIBISCUS-LIME VODKA TONIC

Steps:

• Combine 1 1/2 ounces vodka, 3/4 ounce syrup from a jar of hibiscus flowers and 1/2 ounce lime juice in a tall glass; stir to combine. Add ice and top with 3/4 cup chilled tonic water. Garnish with a jarred hibiscus flower.

CRANBERRY VODKA TONICS

Steps:

• Combine the cranberries and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the vanilla extract or split vanilla bean and cook, stirring, until the cranberries burst, 5 to 6 minutes.
• Divide the cranberry mixture between 2 large mason jars. Divide the vodka between the jars. Cover and refrigerate for 1 week. Strain out the cranberries. Store the flavored vodka in a clean jar in the refrigerator.
• For each drink, pour 2 ounces cranberry vodka over ice in a tall glass; top with tonic. Garnish with a slice of lime.

HEAVENLY HIBISCUS MARTINI

Steps:

• Gather the ingredients.
• Bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Add 2 tablespoons of hibiscus tea. Let steep for 10 minutes.
• Take the teabag out and add 1 cup of superfine (not powdered) sugar. Stir until all the sugar dissolves.
• Keep refrigerated until ready to use.
• Gather the ingredients.
• Pour vodka and other ingredients into a mixing glass.
• Add ice and shake vigorously for 7 to 8 seconds.
• Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a hibiscus flower or edible orchid.
• Serve and enjoy!

VODKA TONIC

Steps:

• Fill a highball glass with ice.
• Pour vodka in glass (I like Skyy or Grey Goose). Top with tonic water (I use diet tonic water at home).
• Squeeze lime wedge(s) over the drink, drop wedge(s) into drink, and lightly stir.
• Enjoy!
