Strawberry Banana Salad is the perfect addition to any party or picnic and it makes an unforgettable snack too. Packed with fruit this dish is sweet, creamy and takes just minutes to make. While it's easy to make, it is even easier to eat, so be prepared for an empty dish in record time!

3 ripe bananas
½ lemon ( juiced)
⅓ cup sugar
14 ounces crushed pineapple (drained)
1 ½ cups strawberries (diced)
½ cup maraschino cherries (chopped)
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 tub whipped topping (8 ounces)

Steps:

  • Place bananas in a large bowl and mash. Stir in juice from ½ of a lemon.
  • Add sugar, pineapple and greek yogurt. Stir until smooth. Stir in cherries and strawberries.
  • Fold in whipped topping. Refrigerate until serving.

1 large firm banana, sliced
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon sugar
2 cups torn mixed salad greens
5 fresh strawberries, sliced
1 tablespoon salted peanuts, chopped

Steps:

  • Lightly toss banana slices with lemon juice. Place 1/4 cup in a small bowl; mash. Stir in the mayonnaise and sugar. In a salad bowl, combine the greens, strawberries and remaining banana slices; toss. Top with banana dressing; sprinkle with peanuts.

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
10 pounds red potatoes
2/3 cup sweet pickle relish
1/2 cup yellow mustard
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika, plus additional for sprinkling
12 large hard-boiled eggs, quartered
1/2 red onion, diced
1/2 green bell pepper, diced
3 to 4 cups mayonnaise

Steps:

  • Fill a large stockpot with heavily salted water and the potatoes and bring to a boil. Cook until tender, 20 to 25 minutes. Drain the potatoes and quarter when cool enough to handle.
  • Mix together the relish, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, eggs, onion, bell pepper, 3 cups mayo and a pinch of salt and pepper in a large bowl. Add the potatoes and toss until combined. Add additional mayo if the salad looks dry. Sprinkle with smoked paprika. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until ready to eat.

Aunt Holly's Banana Bread has no nuts, but it's loaded with chocolatey chips.

3 to 4 ripe bananas
1/4 cup melted butter
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon baking soda
Chocolate chips (as many as you want!)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Mash the bananas in a bowl. Add all the remaining ingredients and mix well with a wooden spoon. Bake in a buttered loaf pan until a toothpick stuck into the bread comes out clean, 55 to 60 minutes. Slice and serve.

I got this recipe from one of my aunts, who got it from an old woman she met in Hawaii while stationed there. It is hands-down the very best banana bread I've ever tasted!! No extra buttering required ;)

3 ripe bananas, mashed
1 teaspoon distilled white vinegar
1 ½ cups white sugar
½ cup butter, softened
2 eggs, beaten
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
¾ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup chopped walnuts
½ cup chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • Stir the bananas and vinegar together in a bowl, and set aside. Cream the sugar and butter together in a large bowl until creamy and smooth, then beat in the eggs. Stir in the reserved banana mixture. In a separate bowl, stir the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together until the mixture is free of lumps. Mix the flour mixture into the butter-sugar mixture until well blended, and stir in the chopped walnuts and chocolate chips. Spread the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until lightly browned and a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean, 50 to 60 minutes. Let cool in pan about 5 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.

  • Cool.
  • Alternate layers of bananas, dressing and peanuts.
