2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon steak sauce
1/4 teaspoon cider vinegar
1 pound ground beef
4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
8 cooked bacon strips
Optional toppings: lettuce leaves and tomato, onion and pickle slices

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into four patties., Grill burgers, covered, over medium heat or broil 3 in. from the heat for 4-7 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 160° and juices run clear. Top with cheese. Grill 1 minute longer or until cheese is melted. Serve on buns with bacon and toppings of your choice.

1/2 cup KRAFT Original Barbecue Sauce, divided
1 lb. lean ground beef
4 KRAFT Singles
4 kaiser rolls, split, toasted
4 lettuce leaves
1 tomato, cut into 4 slices
4 slices cooked OSCAR MAYER Bacon, broken in half

Steps:

  • Heat broiler.
  • Reserve 1/4 cup barbecue sauce. Shape meat into 4 (1/2-inch-thick) patties.
  • Broil, 4 to 6 inches from heat, 7 to 9 min. on each side or until done (160°F), brushing occasionally with remaining barbecue sauce for the last few minutes. Top with Singles. Broil 1 min. or until Singles begin to melt.
  • Fill rolls with lettuce, tomatoes, burgers, reserved sauce and bacon.

This takes a little more effort than the average cheeseburger, but is well worth it! Serve on buns with your favorite condiments.

1 pound sliced bacon, diced
5 pounds ground beef chuck
1 large onion, chopped
¼ cup steak sauce
salt and pepper to taste
1 pound American cheese slices

Steps:

  • Preheat a grill for high heat.
  • Place bacon in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry, stirring occasionally. When the bacon is almost done, add the onion. Cook until the bacon is crisp, and the onion is tender. Remove onion and bacon from the pan with a slotted spoon, and transfer to a food processor. Pulse a couple of times to chop finely. Do not puree. Pour into a large bowl, and mix with steak sauce and ground chuck using your hands. Form into 16 patties.
  • Place patties on the grill, and cook for 5 minutes per side, or until well done. Place a slice of cheese on top of each one during the last minute.

1/2 cup barbecue sauce, divided (Kraft)
1 lb lean ground beef
4 slices American cheese (Kraft Singles)
4 kaiser rolls, split, toasted
4 lettuce leaves
4 slices tomatoes
4 slices sweet onions
4 slices bacon, cooked, broken in half

Steps:

  • Heat broiler ( George Foreman or bbq can be used). Mix 1/4 cup of BBQ sauce with ground beef. Shape into 4 patties. Broil, 4-6" from heat, 7-9 minute on each side or until cooked through (160*), brushing occasionally with remaining BBQ sauce. If using Foreman omit brushing of sauce until cooking is completed. Top with cheese. Broil 1 minute or until cheese is melted. Cover bottom halves of rolls with lettuce, onions, and tomatoes; top with burgers, remaining sauce, bacon and tops of rolls. Serve with coleslaw or french fries.
