1/2 pound Italian sausage links, cut into 1/4-inch slices
1 cup spaghetti sauce
1/2 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1/2 cup julienned green pepper
1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese, divided
1 cup biscuit/baking mix
1 large egg
1/2 cup 2% milk

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. , Pour spaghetti sauce into a greased 8-in. square baking dish. Layer with mushrooms, green pepper, sausage and 1/2 cup cheese., In a small bowl, combine the biscuit mix, egg and milk until blended. Pour over top. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. , Bake, uncovered, at 400° for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Upside down pizza made with the toppings on the bottom and the crust on top is a super fun casserole that the whole family will love!

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 pound Italian sausage (or other ground meat)
1 small yellow onion (diced)
1 green bell pepper (chopped)
1 cup mini pepperonis ((5 ounce package))
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 jar spaghetti sauce ((24 ounces))
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella
1 cup flour (all purpose)
2 large eggs (room temperature)
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon olive oil
½ teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Cook the Italian sausage, onion and bell pepper in a large skillet over medium high heat until sausage is cooked through completely and vegetables have started to soften. Drain grease, if necessary.
  • Add the mini pepperonis and Italian seasoning and cook for another minute or two.
  • Stir in the spaghetti sauce and allow to simmer for several minutes.
  • Spread the meat mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch casserole dish, then sprinkle the shredded mozzarella evenly over the top.
  • In a medium sized bowl, whisk together the flour, eggs, milk, vegetable oil and salt, then pour evenly over the top of the cheese.
  • Bake at 400°F for 25 to 30 minutes, until dish is bubbly and the crust has puffed up and started to brown.
  • Allow to rest for several minutes before serving.

1 15 ounce(s) italian-style tomato sauce
1 1/2 cup(s) (6 oz.) shredded mozzarella cheese
1 10 ounce(s) package refrigerated biscuits (10 biscuits)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 F. In a large skillet, cook beef until brown. Drain off fat. Stir in tomato sauce; heat through. Transfer to an ungreased 2-quart rectangulaar baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese. Flatten each biscuit with hands; arrange the biscuits on top of cheese. Bake about 15 minutes or until biscuits are golden.

1 package (6 oz) diced pepperoni
1 can (2 1/4 oz) sliced ripe olives, drained
2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups shredded pizza cheese blend (6 oz)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. In 12-inch skillet, cook beef, onion and bell pepper over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is thoroughly cooked; drain.
  • Stir in pizza sauce, pepperoni and olives; heat until hot. Spoon into ungreased 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish.
  • In medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix, milk and eggs until blended. Pour evenly over pepperoni mixture.
  • Bake uncovered about 25 minutes or until crust is light brown. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake uncovered about 5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.

1 to 1 1/2 pounds of bulk italian sausage
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 c green pepper, chopped (or to your liking)
2 Tbsp plus 1 cup all-purpose flour, divided
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp fennel seed
1 can(s) (15 oz.) tomato sauce
2 c (8 oz.) shredded mozzarella cheese
2 eggs
1 c milk
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 tsp salt
2 Tbsp grated parmesan cheese
cooking spray

Steps:

  • 1. In a saucepan, cook the sausage, onion and green pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain.
  • 2. Stir in 2 tablespoons flour, basil and fennel; mix well. Add tomato sauce. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes.
  • 3. Transfer to a 9x13" casserole dish that has been lightly sprayed with cooking spray. Sprinkle/layer with mozzarella cheese.
  • 4. Place the remaining flour in a mixing bowl. Beat in the eggs, milk, oil and salt until smooth; stir in Parmesan cheese. Pour over casserole.
  • 5. Bake in oven, uncovered at 425 degrees for 25 - 30 minutes or until lightly browned on top. Yields 6-8 servings.

2 garlic cloves, minced
1 (8 ounce) package mushrooms, sliced

5 ounces turkey pepperoni, slices
3 -4 ounces low fat mozzarella, shredded
1 (16 1/3 ounce) package grands homestyle refrigerated reduced-fat buttermilk biscuits, separated and cut into fourths

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees and prepare baking dish (I use a 1.75qt oval baker).
  • Over medium heat, combine the ground beef, onion and garlic in a large skillet until beef is browned.

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
