"BEARS" SPECIAL SALAD
Number Of Ingredients 10
Steps:
- Boil rotini noodles until tender; drain. In large bowl, mix noodles and all other ingredients, except salad dressing. Mix vegetables and crabmeat well. Pour salad dressing over vegetables and rotini, and toss gently. Chill. Fun Fact: A Mississippi bear hunt inspired the "Teddy Bear." In 1902, President Theodore Roosevelt visited Mississippi to settle a border dispute between Mississippi and Louisiana. During his visit, he went bear hunting near Onward, Mississippi. After a while with no success, a member of the hunting party located a bear and offered the President the opportunity to shoot the bear. Roosevelt refused to shoot the helpless bear that was exhausted and possibly injured. News of the president's actions became national news and inspired Morris Michtom, a New York merchant, to create a stuffed toy bear and name it "Teddy's Bear." The rest is history.
