TASTES JUST LIKE KFC COLESLAW

Tastes Just Like KFC Coleslaw image

We like KFC, I know they get a lot of bad comments but the cole slaw is still delicious so I will give you the secret recipe how to make your cole slaw tastes even better than theirs.

Provided by Cheryl Culver

Categories     Other Salads

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 c miracle whip dressing(must be miracle whip for this taste)
1 c sugar
1/4 c oil
1/4 c vinegar
FOR YOUR COLE SLAW YOU WILL NEED:
1 medium head of green cabbage, or half red and half green
5-6 large carrots
1 small onion(optional)
1 small green pepper(optional)

Steps:

  • 1. How to Make it: Mix together and add to your shredded coleslaw. Keeps up to 2 weeks. Other variations if you don't want it so sweet do only 1/4 cup of sugar. Use Balsamic Vinegar or Cider Vinegar. Add Sweet onion to it or Wala Wala Onion. If you are making a lot of coleslaw you might want to double this recipe.
  • 2. First I put the cabbage and carrots through my food processor on fine chopping blade or shredder, depending on your machine and chop that up. Put into a big bowl to mix Then add diced onion and green pepper if you want it and mix gently Pour your dressing over cole slaw and mix and chill for at least an hour before serving Enjoy Good Food

Creamy juicy coleslaw that the buddies at my significant other's work could not believe this was not from KFC. I have never found a recipe for the way I make it. I don't think it would be as juicy with real mayo, the sugar makes it juicy

Provided by MinnesotaCook

Categories     Vegetable

Time 40m

Yield 1 half gallon container, 12-16 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

8 cups finely chopped cabbage (1 head)
1/4 cup finely grated and chopped carrot
1/4 cup finely diced onion
1/2 cup Miracle Whip
1/2 cup sour cream
1/3 cup sugar

Steps:

  • Finely Chop the Cabbage and put in large mixing bowl.
  • Add the other ingredients and mix well.
  • Put in a container and refrigerate covered. I use a half gallon plastic ice cream container. I find it best to sit over night or for several hours -- for the flavors to blend and allow the sugar to bring out the juices. I serve in tiny desert bowls as it is quite juicy.

JUST LIKE KFC COLESLAW - COPYCAT

Just Like Kfc Coleslaw - Copycat image

I copied these ingredients from the KFC coleslaw container years ago. Yes, they did list Miracle Whip, not mayo! It always goes quick, but I never get any compliments when I bring it as a dish to pass because they all think that I just picked it up from KFC and put it in my own bowl! I use the bags of coleslaw mix from the produce section of my store and chop it in the food processor, but you can use a 1 lb head of cabbage, and a couple of carrots instead if you wish.
