Ingredients

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour cream
2 cups chopped apples
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons melted butter

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350.
Grease a 13 x 9 x 2 baking pan.
Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs and vanilla, beat well.
Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Add dry ingredients to the first mixture alternately with 1 cup sour cream.
Stir in chopped apples.
Spread evenly in greased pan.
Mix together ingredients for nut topping.
Sprinkle over batter.
Bake for 35-40 minutes.

Ingredients

4 apples
1 lemon, juiced
440g caster sugar
4 eggs
480g plain flour
7g baking powder
250g soured cream
50ml rum
20g butter, melted, plus extra for the tin
10g icing sugar

Steps:

Peel, deseed and cut the apples into eighths. Pour the lemon juice over the apples and sprinkle with a little caster sugar so that they do not darken.
Heat the oven to 190C/fan 170C/gas 5. Beat the eggs with the remaining caster sugar in a mixer until you have a thick, pale, mousse-like mixture. Sift over the flour and baking powder, and fold it in followed by the soured cream, rum and butter.
Butter the inside of a 23cm springform tin and arrange the apples on the base. Spoon the batter on top and level it with a spatula. Put the cake in the oven and bake for 50 minutes-1 hour without opening the door. Cool the cake and then turn it out onto a plate, and sprinkle it with icing sugar to finish.

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour cream
1-1/2 cups chopped peeled tart apples
TOPPING:
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 teaspoon apple pie spice

Steps:

In a bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; add alternately with sour cream to the creamed mixture. Fold in apples. Spoon into a greased 9-in. square baking pan. In a small bowl, mix topping ingredients; sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until done.

2 cups apples
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups sugar
1 cup cooking oil
4 eggs
1/4 cup orange juice
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups flour, Sifted
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Steps:

Peel, core, and chop apples into small pieces.
Mix together with 3 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon.
Set aside.
In large bowl, combine sugar and cooking oil; beat.
Add eggs, orange juice, and vanilla.
Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt; add to creamed mixture.
Beat until smooth.
Pour one third batter into greased and floured 12 cup bundt pan alternating with one half apple mixture.
Repeat.
End with layer of batter on top.
Bake at 325 degrees F for 60 minutes or until cake tests done.
Cool in pan 10 to 15 minutes; turn out on wire rack or serving plate to complete cooling.
Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
