Our sweet and saucy chicken recipe is pretty simple. The sauce consists of brown sugar which gives it a sweet taste and 2 cups of salsa which give is a flavorful kick. The mustard works perfectly to blend both tastes and give it a terrific texture.

6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 cups salsa
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 Tablespoons honey dijon mustard

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Combine all ingredients and place in 13×9″ pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F. for 40-45 minutes until chicken is thoroughly cooked.

1 pkg chicken leg quarters--pull the skin off
1 1/2 c packed brown sugar
1/2 c all purpose flour
1 1/3 c water
2/3 c white vinegar
2/3 c soy sauce
4 Tbsp ketsup
1/4 large onion-minced
2 tsp prepared mustard
1/2 tsp garlic pwd
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
hot cooked rice or egg noodles

Steps:

  • 1. Place chicken in a 3-qt. slow cooker. In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar and flour. Stir in the water, vinegar and soy sauce. Add the ketchup, onion, mustard, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until thickened.
  • 2. Pour over chicken. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until chicken juices run clear.
  • 3. ok..here's where I switch it up a little bit. SAVE THE LEFTOVERS---!! you will want to debone the chicken, thicken up the sauce a little bit and add some pasta for something I can only call addictive "YUM" and don't judge the YUM by its beginnings because the flavors just become something even more wonderful in the refridgerator.

1/4 cup KRAFT Classic CATALINA Dressing
1/4 cup apricot jam

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400ºF.
  • Place chicken on foil-covered rimmed baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Bake 30 min. Meanwhile, mix remaining ingredients in medium bowl until blended.
  • Add chicken, a few drumettes at a time, to barbecue sauce mixture; toss to evenly coat. Return to prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake 15 min. or until chicken is done (165ºF).

6 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (6 ounces each)
1 cup honey
1/2 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°. Place chicken in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. In a small bowl, mix the remaining ingredients; pour over chicken., Bake, uncovered, 30-35 minutes or until thermometer inserted in chicken reads 165°, basting occasionally. Remove chicken from dish and keep warm., Transfer sauce to a small saucepan. Bring to a boil; cook and stir 12-15 minutes or until sauce is reduced to 1-1/4 cups., Freeze option: Cover and freeze cooled chicken and sauce in freezer containers. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Reheat in a foil-lined 13x9-in. baking dish in a preheated 325° oven until heated through, covering if necessary to prevent excess browning.

This is from Taste of Home Slow Cooker Hot and Hearty Classics. It makes a lot of sauce (about 2 Cups) which is great if serving over noodles or rice. In my case, I was serving it with a side of vegetables so I would reduce the sauce for that reason. I did make one change to this recipe and that was to cook just the chicken for 2 hours, then I drained the fat and added the sauce, but you can do whatever you like.

1 (4 lb) whole chickens, cut up and skin removed
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup flour
2/3 cup water
1/3 cup white vinegar

1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
