STRAWBERRY-BASIL ICED TEA
Strawberries and basil give nuance to iced tea. The drink is toted in an old-fashioned glass jar, with ice added just before serving. Small bags of pistachios are the perfect accompaniment.

Steps:
- Bring 4 cups water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Add tea bags, and let steep for 5 minutes.
- Place strawberries in a bowl. Bring water and sugar to a boil in a small saucepan, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, add basil, and let steep for 10 minutes. Strain over strawberries; discard basil. Toss to coat. Let stand until cool, about 25 minutes. Combine strawberries (with syrup) and tea in a pitcher. Refrigerate until chilled. Serve over ice, and garnish with basil.

Steps:
- Bring 4 cups of water to boil. Transfer to a heat safe bowl.
- add in the fresh strawberries, basil and sugar.
- Stir until sugar dissolves and let sit for 5 minutes.
- Add in the tea bags. Steep for 5 minutes.
- Pass the tea through a sieve removing the bulk strawberries and basil. be sure to press the strawberries into the sieve.
- Add in 3 cups of cold water. Taste the tea and adjust sweetness to desired taste.
- Chill for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Serve chilled tea over ice. Add in sliced strawberries and basil.
- Enjoy!
STRAWBERRY BASIL ICED TEA
I made this using Thai basil and what a treat that was. If you have regular basil that will be fine too. Cooking time is chill time.

Steps:
- Brew tea for 5 to 8 minutes in 4 of boiling water (off heat).
- Remove the tea bags.
- Separately boil1 cup of water and add sugar and 1 cup of basil leaves, brew covered (off heat) for 10 minutes.
- Remove the basil and add chopped strawberries and let it chill in the fridge.
- Add the basil strawberry syrup to the cool or cold brewed tea.
- Serve in glasses with ice and enjoy!.

I found this recipe on the back of a frozen strawberry package. It's really good on hot days! The tea is sweet already from the strawberries; so if you'd like, you can cut back on the sugar a bit. Enjoy!

- With the remaining berries, blend in a blender or food processor until smooth.
- Strain the pureed berries, discard seeds.
- Mix together pureed strawberries, tea, lemon juice, and desired amount of sugar.
- Chill until ready to serve.
- Serve with ice and reserved berries as garnishes.

- Bring water to a boil {in kettle or microwave}. Add 4 tea bags and steep until desired strength is achieved.
- Meanwhile, bring sugar and 1/4 cup water to a boil in a small saucepan; simmer for 1 minute or until sugar is completely dissolved. Toss in basil leaves and allow to steep for about 10 minutes.
- When tea and sugar syrup are ready and slightly cooled, strain into a blender with strawberries. Blend for a minute or two, until mixture is completely smooth.
- Using a mesh strainer, strain the mixture into a pitcher, pressing on the solids to remove any juice. Discard solids.
