1 pound lean ground pork
2 tablespoons water
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon dried sage
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
Pinch of ground ginger

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine all of the ingredients; mix well. Shape into six patties. Fry in a skillet until meat is browned and cooked through.

These are so easy to put together. Make them as spicy as you like, we used a very hot chili, and hot curry paste, but you could tone it down if you wanted. Make them into 12 little patties for appetizers, or 4 large for dinner (cook longer). Serve with a thai dipping sauce, or a cucumber raita.

1 lb ground pork
3 teaspoons hot curry paste
3 tablespoons fresh breadcrumbs
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons lime juice
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
1 red chile, finely chopped
2 teaspoons soft brown sugar
canoli oil
salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients, except the oil, in a large bowl and chill for 30 minutes.
  • Divide the mixture evenly into 12 portions and shape each one into a flat round pattie.
  • Heat the oil (enough to cover the bottom of the non-stick frying pan) over moderate heat for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.
  • Remove and drain on a paper towel if you wish. Serve hot with dipping sauce or raita.

6 eggs, separated
3 cups shredded cooked pork (about 3/4 lb.)
1/4 cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese
1/2 cup oil
1/4 cup KRAFT Zesty Italian Dressing
1 onion, sliced
1 pkg. (16 oz.) frozen green beans, thawed
1 jar (16 oz.) tomatillo salsa
2 cups water
1 chicken bouillon cube

Steps:

  • Beat egg whites in large bowl with mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form. Gently stir in egg yolks, meat and cheese.
  • Heat oil in medium skillet on medium heat. Drop 1/3 of the meat mixture into 4 (1/4-cup) mounds in skillet; flatten each to 4-inch patty. Cook 3 min. on each side or until golden brown on both sides. Remove from skillet; drain on paper towels. Cover to keep warm. Repeat with remaining meat mixture.
  • Meanwhile, heat dressing in medium saucepan on medium heat. Add onions; cook 3 min., stirring occasionally. Stir in beans; cook 2 min. Add tomatillo salsa, water and bouillon; mix well. Bring to boil; cook 5 min., stirring occasionally.
  • Serve meat patties topped with the sauce.

Adding salsa to the ground pork keeps the meat extra moist in this delicious burger recipe.

1 lb 454 g ground pork
3/4 cup 185 mL Pace® Chunky Medium Salsa
1 tbsp 15 mL canned chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
1/4 tsp 1 mL salt
1/4 tsp 1 mL black pepper
1 tbsp 15 mL vegetable oil
4 slices Monterey Jack cheese
4 each brioche or soft Kaiser buns, halved and toasted
2 tbsp 30 mL mayonnaise
1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425˚F (220˚C). Mix together ground pork, 1/4 cup (60 mL) salsa, chipotles, salt and pepper until combined. Divide into 4 portions and shape into 1/2-inch (1 cm) thick patties.
  • Heat oil in large ovenproof skillet set over medium heat; cook burgers for about 3 minutes per side or until golden brown. Transfer to oven; cook for 5 minutes. Top each burger with slice of cheese. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until instant-read thermometer reaches 160°F (71°C) when inserted into centre of burger
  • Sandwich burgers in buns with remaining salsa, mayonnaise, lettuce, onion and jalapeño slices.

1 inch fresh ginger
1/2 inch galangal
1 stalk lemongrass
1 tablespoon chili paste
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon turmeric powder
2 tablespoons fish sauce
5 kaffir lime leaves
10 basil leaves
1 egg

Steps:

  • Marinate the minced pork with fish sauce and chili paste. Add the turmeric powder. Add chopped the Kaffir lime leaves and basil leaves.

5 slices bacon
1 clove garlic, minced
1 pound ground pork
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried rubbed sage
Freshly ground pepper
4 potato buns, split
Unsalted butter, softened, for spreading
Coleslaw, for topping

Steps:

  • Pulse the bacon and garlic in a food processor until coarsely ground.
  • Combine the ground pork, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper and the sage in a large bowl. Add the bacon mixture and gently mix with your hands. Gently form the meat into 4 balls, then lightly press into 4-inch-wide, 1-inch-thick patties. Make a 2-inch-wide indentation in the center of each with your thumb to prevent the burgers from bulging when grilled.
  • Preheat a grill to medium high. Season the patties with pepper. Grill, undisturbed, until marked on the bottom, 5 to 6 minutes. Turn and grill until the other side is marked and the patties feel firm, 4 to 6 more minutes. Meanwhile, spread the cut sides of the buns with butter and toast on the grill.
  • Serve the patties on the buns; top with coleslaw.
