Spicy Edamame with Lemon Recipe - (4.1/5) image

1 tablespoon kosher salt, plus more for boiling
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
1 lb frozen edamame, in the pod (green soy beans)
1 lemons, sliced into 8 wedges

Steps:

  • Heat the salt, chili powder, and pepper flakes in a small dry skillet set over medium heat, stirring until hot and aromatic, about 3 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the sugar. Set aside. Boil the edamame pods in salted water until tender, about 8 minutes. Drain in a colander and pat dry. Toss the edamame pods with the chili-salt and serve warm with lemon wedges to squeeze on top.

Steps:

  • Place edamame in a large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Cover and cook until tender, 4-5 minutes; drain. Transfer to a large bowl. Add the seasonings; toss to coat.

1/2 teaspoon pepper, red flakes
16 ounce(s) edamame, frozen

1/2 teaspoon salt, sea

Steps:

  • 1 In a medium saucepan, combine 6 cups of water, the garlic, the lemon zest, and red pepper flakes. Cover and bring to a boil over high heat. Cook, partially covered, for 3 minutes to blend the flavors. 2 Add the frozen edamame. Return the water to a boil and cook, uncovered, for 3 minutes. 3 Drain well and transfer the edamame to a serving bowl. Discard the garlic. Toss the edamame with the lemon juice and sea salt. Serve warm.
