This recipe is a friend's grandma's recipe and is absolutely the best hash brown casserole I've ever had. Kentucky grandmas sure know how to cook!

Ingredients

1 (2 pound) package frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
½ cup melted butter
½ cup chopped onion
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 cup crushed cornflakes
½ cup melted butter

Steps:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Mix hash browns, cream of chicken soup, Cheddar cheese, sour cream, butter, onion, salt, and pepper together in a bowl. Arrange in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle on top. Drizzle butter over the cornflakes.
Bake in the preheated oven until the sauce is bubbly and the top is golden brown, 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

1 (32 ounce) package frozen hash browns
1/2 cup margarine, melted
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 cups Velveeta cheese, sliced thin
1 (12 ounce) can Spam, cubed
1 (10 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
1 1/2 cups sour cream
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup onion, chopped
2 cups potato chips, crushed

Steps:

Preatheat oven to 350°F.
In bowl, combine potatoes, melted butter, salt, pepper and garlic powder.
In separate large bowl, combine cheese, spam, soup, sour cream, milk, and onion. Add spam mixyure to potato mixture,.
Mix well.
Pour into prepared 2 quart baking pan.
Sprinkle with potato chips.
Bake for 45 to 60 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
