PIZZA ROSE RECIPE BY TASTY

Pizza Rose Recipe by Tasty image

Here's what you need: pepperoni, tomato skin slouse, pizza sauce, pizza dough, shredded low moisture mozzarella cheese, fresh basil leaf

Provided by Tasty

Categories     Appetizers

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 6

5 oz pepperoni, 6-8 pepperoni per rose
tomato skin slouse, vegetarian option, 6-8 per rose
3 oz pizza sauce
4 oz pizza dough
¼ cup shredded low moisture mozzarella cheese
fresh basil leaf, optional

Steps:

  • Cut off a piece of pizza dough and roll out over a floured surface until it's about 8 inches (20 cm) long. Try to get the dough as thin as possible.
  • Cover lightly in pizza sauce.
  • Place pepperoni at one end, so that the pepperoni aligns with the bottom of the dough. Place the second pepperoni piece so that it overlaps with the first piece, and is placed sightly higher than the bottom line of the dough. Continue layering pepperoni so that each one overlaps a bit less than the previous piece, and follows an upward angle.
  • Sprinkle the bottom half with low moisture mozzarella cheese, and beginning from the end with the most pepperoni, roll the dough into a lose coil.
  • Place in a muffin tin, with the pepperoni facing up.
  • If opting for the vegetarian version, peel long strips of skin off a tomato. (Video shows center ring being cut but you can peel strips from top to bottom to use more of the tomato)
  • Bake at 400°F (204°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until pepperoni edges are crispy and the dough is fully cooked through.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool. Lay over a bed of basil leaves (for taste and presentation).
  • Enjoy!

TODDLER RECIPE: HOMEMADE PIZZA WITH VEGGIE FACES

Toddler recipe: homemade pizza with veggie faces image

Here's a toddler recipe to keep little bellies full and hands busy. They can decorate these pizzas themselves and pack in four of their five-a-day

Provided by Caroline Hire - Food writer

Categories     Breads

Time 40m

Yield Makes 4 pizzas

Number Of Ingredients 15

150g wholemeal spelt flour
350g strong white flour
1 ½ tsp dried fast action yeast
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil
1 can chopped tomatoes
1 small garlic clove
pinch of dried thyme
160g grated cheddar and mozzarella cheese
1 red pepper , cut into strips
1 yellow pepper , cut into strips
1 courgette , cut into rounds or spiralized
1 small pack cherry tomatoes , halved
handful pitted olives
1 can salt-free sweetcorn , drained

Steps:

  • To make the dough, put both flours into a large bowl, then stir in the yeast and salt. Make a well, pour in 400ml warm water and the olive oil and mix with a wooden spoon until you have a soft, fairly wet dough. Bring together with a light knead in the bowl then turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 mins until smooth. Cover with a tea towel and set aside. Leave the dough to rise if you have time but it's not essential for a thin crust.
  • To make the sauce, blitz the tomatoes, garlic and thyme and a little seasoning, either in a food processor or using a hand blender.
  • Heat oven to 240C/fan 220C/gas 8. Get the toppings ready in bowls so that your children can decorate their own.
  • If the dough has had time to rise, give it a little knead in the bowl, then split into four balls. On a floured surface, roll out two of the balls into wide circles using a rolling pin. The dough needs to be very thin as it will rise in the oven. Lift these onto two floured baking sheets or pizza trays.
  • Smooth sauce over bases with a spoon. Scatter with cheese, then start making the faces. Courgette rounds make great eyes or cheeks, halved courgette rounds can be used for ears and spiralised courgette for hair. Strips of pepper are good for eyebrows and mouths while olives and halved cherry tomatoes make great eyes or earrings. Sweetcorn can be used for teeth or freckles. Let their imagination go wild.
  • Cook for around 10-15 mins until crisp. You'll want to swap the pizzas to a lower shelf halfway through the cooking time.
  • Repeat for the second two pizzas or freeze the balls of dough in two separate freezer bags, plus any remaining sauce in a sealed container.

MINI TOP-YOUR-OWN PIZZAS

Mini top-your-own pizzas image

Get the kids involved in making this easy homemade dough, then let them mix-and-match their favourite toppings

Provided by Richard Burr

Categories     Buffet, Dinner, Lunch, Main course, Snack, Supper

Time 1h45m

Yield Makes 6

Number Of Ingredients 9

300g strong white bread flour , plus extra for kneading
1 tbsp fast-action dried yeast
1 tsp caster sugar
1 tbsp olive oil , plus a little extra for greasing the bowl
150ml passata
small pack basil , leaves picked and finely chopped
1 tsp mixed herbs
choose your favourites (we used black olives , yellow peppers, salami and grated cheddar)
200g ball mozzarella , torn into small pieces

Steps:

  • Put the flour in a large bowl. Add a little salt to one side of the bowl and the yeast to the other side. Sprinkle over the sugar, together with a spoon, and add the oil and 190ml warm water. Combine with a spoon until all the flour comes away from the sides of the bowl, then tip onto a floured surface. Knead for 5-10 mins or until smooth and elastic. Lightly oil a clean bowl, add the dough, cover with cling film and leave to rise for 1 hr.
  • Meanwhile, make the sauce. Pour the passata into a saucepan, add the basil and mixed herbs, then season and bring to the boil over a low heat. Simmer gently for 5 mins, then set aside to cool. Chop the toppings.
  • Once the dough has risen, tip it out, knock out the air and divide into 6 equal parts. Heat oven to 240C/220C fan/gas 9 and place 2 large baking sheets in the oven.
  • Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface into a circle around 15cm in diameter. Pick up the circle of dough and toss about a metre up, spinning it in the air. Catch it on the back of your hand, so your fingers don't poke through the dough. Do this at least 3 times to achieve a thin central base and a thicker outside crust. Alternatively, you could carry on rolling, but it's not as much fun!
  • Lay the bases onto baking parchment (2 bases on 1 piece of parchment) and carefully slide each pair inside a plastic bag 'tent' for 15 mins to prove again.
  • After the second rise, spread the sauce over the bases and add the and mozzarella. Take the baking sheets out the oven and quickly slide the pizzas (still on their baking parchment) on top. You can cook 2-3 pizzas per tray. Return to the oven and bake for 12 mins. Take out, slice and eat.

  • Apple Crisp Pizza. This delicious dessert pizza combines all the yumminess of a fresh-from-the-oven apple crisp with flaky “pizza” crust and a generous drizzle of caramel sauce.
  • Fruity Brownie Dessert Pizza. When it comes to desserts that everyone loves, brownies are pretty high up on the list. And this recipe takes traditional brownies to a whole new level!
  • Keto Cookie Pizza. This keto cookie pizza is practically the same as the fruity brownie dessert pizza above, but this one uses specific ingredients to ensure that it remains keto-friendly.
  • Chocolate Chip Cookie Pizza. You might be able to argue that the first three dessert pizzas on this list are at least moderately healthy. They do feature apples and berries, after all!
  • Sweet Banana Pizza with White Chocolate. You’ll only need four ingredients to whip up this sweet and simple banana and white chocolate pizza (and you can probably guess three of them just from the name).
  • Easy S’mores Dessert Pizza with Nutella. Believe it or not, this s’mores pizza is even quicker and easier to make than the banana one! You’ll need pita flatbread, hazelnut Nutella, Golden Grahams, and mini-marshmallows.
  • Raspberry S’mores Pizza. If you like the idea of s’mores dessert pizza but like to taste a bit of tanginess in your sweets, make this raspberry s’mores pizza instead.
  • Taffy Apple Pizza. If you like your desserts to be both sweet and tart, taffy apple pizza is the way to go. The Granny Smith apples, cream cheese, and lemon-lime soda add plenty of tart tanginess.
  • Sinful Chocolate Pizza. As fantastic as this dessert pizza is, “sinful” is undoubtedly the correct word for it. A single piece of this over-the-top indulgence is a sugar high waiting to happen.
  • Cinnamon Roll Pizza. I know this is a list of dessert pizzas, but I find myself making this one more often for breakfast or brunch when I want something sweet and sugary.
