One Pan Creamy Parmesan Shrimp Linguine image

This one pan pasta with shrimp is the perfect recipe for a hectic day! It's so easy to make, deliciously flavorful and perfectly creamy. And you can't go wrong with that pasta, parmesan and shrimp combo!

Provided by Jaclyn

Categories     Main Course

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 lb medium shrimp, (peeled and deveined)
3 Tbsp butter, (divided)
3 garlic cloves, (minced)
3 cups water
1 cup half and half*, (then more to thin if needed)
1 (12 oz) pkg. Barilla Pronto Linguine
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 cup finely shredded parmesan
2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • Melt 1 Tbsp butter in a 12-inch saute pan over medium-high heat, add shrimp and season with salt and pepper.
  • Cook stirring occasionally until opaque and cooked through. Transfer shrimp to a piece of foil and wrap to keep warm.
  • Return saute pan to medium heat and melt remaining 2 Tbsp butter. Add garlic and saute 20 seconds or until slightly golden.
  • Add water, 1 cup half and half, linguine and season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  • Allow to boil, stirring frequently until noodles have reached desired doneness, about 10 minutes (there should be some excess liquid, this will be the sauce).
  • Remove from heat, add in parmesan and stir until it has melted (it may appear to clump up at first but should melt after a bit of stirring).
  • Thin with more half and half if needed (as it sits it will thicken). Toss in shrimp and sprinkle parsley over top. Serve warm.

Shrimp with Linguine in a Pesto Cream Sauce image

Provided by Food Network

Categories     main-dish

Time 35m

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 22

1 pound linguine
1/4 cup kosher salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tablespoons Essence, divided, recipe follows
1 1/2 teaspoons salt, divided
1 cup finely chopped yellow onion
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1/2 cup pesto
1/2 cup reserved pasta cooking water
2 tablespoons chopped parsley leaves
1/4 cup grated Parmesan
2 1/2 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon dried thyme

Steps:

  • Set a large 1-gallon stock pot of water to a boil and add the kosher salt. Place the linguine in the pot and stir the pot until the water returns to a boil. Cook the pasta until tender, but with a bit of resistance (al dente), about 12 minutes.
  • While the pasta cooks, prepare the sauce. Set a 12-inch saute pan over medium-high heat. Add the butter and olive oil to the pan. Once the butter has melted, season the shrimp with 1 tablespoon of the Essence and 1/2 teaspoon of the salt and add the shrimp to the pan. Sear the shrimp until pink, about 1 minute, then turn over and cook for another minute. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside. Add the onions and saute until softened and lightly caramelized, about 4 to 5 minutes. Add the garlic to the pan and saute until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the cream, pesto, remaining tablespoon of Essence, remaining teaspoon of the salt to the pan and bring to a boil. Cook the sauce until the cream is reduced by half, about 2 minutes. Return the shrimp, linguine and the reserved cooking water to the pan and cook, tossing to incorporate for 3 to 5 minutes. Remove pan from the heat and add the parsley and parmesan cheese and toss to blend. Serve immediately.
  • Combine all ingredients thoroughly.

Time 50m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 18

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
1/3 cup yellow sweet onion, coarsely chopped
3 celery ribs, sliced diagonally 1/3-inch thick
1 red bell pepper, sliced lengthwise, then cut into 1-inch strips
3 garlic cloves, chopped
3 slices prosciutto, coarsely chopped
1/3 cup white wine (I used a Pinot Grigio)
1 lb large shrimp, peeled (with tails left on)
16 ounces angel hair pasta
1 cup half-and-half cream
3 tablespoons butter

fresh basil leaf, cut up. reserve some basil (to garnish, I used 12)
freshly ground sea salt

Steps:

  • In large saute pan, heat olive oil over medium high heat, add butter to melt. Add trinity (onion, celery, red pepper)and saute gently for a few minutes until aromatic. Lower heat and add garlic and prosciutto, cooking a minute more. Carefully add wine, and cook until liquid has nearly evaporated. Remove from pan and hold.
  • In same pan, add a splash of olive oil and heat, adding shrimp. Cook until heated through and pink. Do not overcook! Remove from heat.
  • In large saucepan, add half & hslf, butter and trinity mixture. Bring just to boil, then reduce heat and gently simmer, stirring occasionally to allow sauce to slightly thicken.
  • Meanwhile, bring water to boild for pasta. Add angel hair and cook approximately 4 minutes (al dente). Drain, reserving 1/2 c pasta water. Toss pasta with some of the pasta water and cover to keep warm.
  • When sauce is slightly thickened (about 10 minutes), add parmesan cheese, ground peppers and chopped basil, salting to taste. As sauce is thickening, add cooked shrimp to heat through.
  • Place angel hair pasta on plates, spooning sauce over pasta and topping with freshly grated parmesan & garnish with a pinch of chopped basil.
