Pan Seared Salmon with Lemon Garlic Butter Sauce image

Lemon Garlic Herb Salmon is a deliciously easy salmon recipe, so simple to make, yet so delicious! Crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside!

28 ounces (800 g) skinless salmon filets
Salt and pepper (, to season)
3 tablespoons lemon juice (, divided)
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
8 cloves garlic (, finely chopped or minced)
4 tablespoons fresh chopped Italian parsley leaves (, divided)
Lemon slices of half a lemon

Steps:

  • Pat dry room temperature salmon filets with paper towel. Season all over with salt, pepper. Squeeze 1-2 teaspoons of lemon juice over each filet, and rub all the flavour in.
  • Heat the olive in a large non-stick pan or skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Place salmon filets flesh side down, pressing them lightly so the entire surface of the flesh comes into contact with the pan. Sear, undisturbed, for 3-4 minutes until crispy and golden.
  • Flip and sear the other side of each filet for TWO minutes. Add in the butter, chopped garlic, 3 tablespoons of parsley, remaining lemon juice and lemon slices. Stir the butter and garlic around each filet.
  • Continue to cook the salmon for a further 1-2 minutes, or until salmon reaches desired doneness. (The butter will begin to brown slightly.) Taste test and season with salt and pepper to your tastes, and add more lemon juice if desired.
  • Garnish with the remaining parsley and drizzle the butter over each filet. Serve immediately.

2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
4 (6-ounce) salmon fillets, skin on
Salt and pepper
Dill fronds, for garnish
Lemon slices, for garnish

Steps:

  • Heat a large non-stick pan over high with olive oil. Liberally season salmon with salt and pepper. Place skin side down in pan and reduce heat to medium-low. Do not move fillets. Allow to cook about 7 minutes or until well browned and cooked about three quarters of the way through. Turn fillets and cook about 3 minutes more, or until still just barely pink in the center. Serve immediately, with the skin side up.

3 teaspoons vegetable oil, plus more for cooking if needed
1 1/2 cups bulgur
Coarse salt and ground pepper
1 scallion, thinly sliced (about 1/2 cup)
6 skinless salmon fillets (4 ounces each)
Lemon wedges (optional), for serving

Steps:

  • In a medium pot, heat 1 teaspoon oil over medium-high. Add bulgur and stir to coat. Cook, stirring constantly, 2 minutes. Add 2 1/4 cups water and season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat to low, and cook until water is absorbed, 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit, covered, 5 minutes. Fluff bulgur with a fork and stir in scallion.
  • Meanwhile, in a large nonstick skillet, heat 2 teaspoons oil over medium-high. Pat salmon fillets dry and season both sides with salt and pepper. When oil is hot, add fillets to skillet, working in batches if necessary (do not overcrowd pan and wipe clean between batches). Cook until salmon is opaque throughout, about 3 minutes per side, flipping once. Reserve 2 fillets for Chopped Salmon Salad. Divide bulgur among 4 plates and top with fish. Serve with lemon wedges if desired.

2 (7-ounce) salmon fillets, skin-on
Coarse salt
Caper-Lemon Butter, for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350. Heat a medium ovenproof nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil. Pat salmon dry with paper towels. Season the flesh-side of the salmon with salt. When the oil is hot, add salmon skin-side down. Sear until the skin is golden brown and crispy, about 5 minutes. Turn and transfer to oven and cook until a cake tester or tip of a paring knife is just warm to the touch when inserted into the middle of the salmon; about 5 minutes for medium-rare and 9 minutes for fully cooked through. Let rest for 2 minutes and serve immediately topped with a pat of butter.

140g bulgur wheat
1 tbsp olive oil
2 skinless salmon fillets
6 spring onions , sliced
juice and zest ½ lemon
1 tbsp clear honey
juice 1 orange , plus 1 tsp zest
200g trimmed fine green beans

Steps:

  • Cook the bulgur wheat following pack instructions. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over a medium heat. Add the salmon fillets and cook for 3 mins on each side. Stir in the spring onions and cook for 1 min. Add lemon juice, honey, orange juice and zest to the pan and bubble for 1 min more to make a sauce.
  • Meanwhile, boil the green beans for 4 mins or until tender. Drain. Stir the bulgur wheat with a fork, mixing in the green beans, lemon zest and a little of the sauce. Serve the salmon on a bed of bulgur and beans, with the rest of the sauce spooned over.
