1/4 bell pepper
1 hoagie roll

Steps:

  • Fry, boil or grill your sausage.
  • Sauté onion and bell pepper with a dash of pepper flakes.
  • ASSEMBLY----------.
  • Place sausage on bun.
  • Place sauté mixture on top.
  • Place warm sauce on top. (warm for twenty seconds in microwave).
  • Enjoy!

8 ounces uncooked spiral pasta
3/4 pound bulk Italian sausage
4-1/2 teaspoons olive oil
1-1/2 teaspoons butter
3/4 cup chopped sweet red pepper
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup white wine or chicken broth
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup grated Romano cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to package direction. In a large skillet, cook sausage in oil and butter over medium heat for 5 minutes. Add red pepper and onion; cook and stir until vegetables are tender and sausage is no longer pink. add wine or broth; cook for 2 minutes. Add the cream, cheese, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. reduce heat; cook over low heat for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally., Drain pasta. In a large bowl, combine sausage mixture and pasta. Before serving, sprinkle with parsley.

This is a great homemade sauce. It's savory and spicy, as well as thick and chunky. The secret is the combination of Italian sausage, green onions, red wine and red pepper flakes. Easily double or triple amount and top on anything! Even better the next day. Enjoy.

2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound Italian sausage
4 green onions, chopped
1 (8 ounce) package fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
½ cup water
½ cup red wine
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 pinch salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Saute garlic until browned. Add sausage and cook for 4 minutes, breaking apart with a spoon. Add green onions and cook until sausage is evenly browned, about 10 minutes.
  • Stir in mushrooms, basil and oregano; cook for 5 minutes. Stir in tomato sauce, stewed tomatoes, and tomato paste. Add water, red wine, red pepper flakes, and sugar. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Reduce heat to low and simmer for at least 1 hour.

1 pound Italian sausage links
½ pound lean ground beef
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 (16 ounce) can canned tomatoes
1 (15 ounce) can canned tomato sauce
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 bay leaf

Steps:

  • Removed casing from sausage links and cut into 1/2 inch slices. In a large skillet, brown sausage over medium heat for about 10 minutes; remove and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat ground beef, olive oil, garlic and onion over medium heat until meat is nicely browned; drain.
  • Pour in tomatoes and tomato sauce; mix in salt, ground black pepper, basil, oregano, bay leaf and cooked sausage. Simmer uncovered for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  • Mix cooked sauce with hot pasta and remove bay leaf from sauce before serving.

2 pounds bulk Italian sausage
2/3 cup chopped onion
2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 pounds plum tomatoes, diced
2 cans (14-1/2 ounces each) beef broth
2 cans (6 ounces each) tomato paste
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
Hot cooked spaghetti

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, cook sausage and onion over medium heat until sausage is no longer pink. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Drain. , Add the tomatoes, broth, tomato paste, brown sugar, Italian seasoning and cinnamon. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 15-20 minutes or until heated through. 1 onion, sliced
1 green pepper, sliced
28 ounces diced tomatoes
1 tablespoon mustard
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
3/4 cup chili sauce
1 -3 lb italian link sausage

Steps:

  • Saute onion and green pepper in olive oil and butter or both until tender.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients except sausages and simmer on medium heat until thick.
  • Cook sausages on grill or broil while sauce simmers.
  • To freeze at this point: I have frozen sausages separate from sauce in separate freezer bags and I have mixed the sauce and sausages together and frozen as well. Personal perefence.
  • If frozen, thaw and serve on buns.
  • If eating now, you can cut sausages in thirds and mix with sauce if you like.
  • You can place sauce and sausages in crockpot to keep warm until dinner.
  • This is very good served with toasted buns with garlic salt on them.
  • I hope you enjoy this as much as we do. The chili sauce is essential to the recipe and is found near the ketchup and cocktail sauce in the store.
