SMOKED SALMON AND HERB CREAM CHEESE BAGELS



Smoked Salmon and Herb Cream Cheese Bagels image

Number Of Ingredients 8

8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
1 tablespoon minced scallions, white and green parts
1 tablespoon minced fresh dill
1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley
1 tablespoon milk
Pinch of kosher salt
2 bagels
3 slices smoked salmon

Steps:

  • Place the cream cheese, scallions, dill, parsley, milk, and salt in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment and mix on low speed until blended.
  • Slice each bagel into 3 rounds lengthwise to make 6 pieces. Spread cream cheese on top of 3 of the rounds and a slice of smoked salmon top of the cream cheese. Place the 3 remaining rounds on top of the smoked salmon and serve.

Salmon cream cheese bagels are the perfect grab-and-go breakfast, or try them as part of a laid back weekend brunch.

12 ounces plain whipped cream cheese
3/4 cup chopped cooked salmon, or canned salmon (, drained well)
2 tablespoons minced fresh dill
2 tablespoons capers (, minced)
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon kosher salt
12 mini bagels
tomato slices
sliced red onion
capers
everything bagel seasoning
fresh dill

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese, salmon, dill, capers, garlic powder and kosher salt until well blended.
  • If desired, toast the bagels or serve untoasted. Spread with salmon cream cheese, and dress with your favorite toppings like tomato, red onion, capers, everything bagel seasoning and dill.

2 sesame bagels
Vegetable Cream Cheese, recipe follows
4 slices smoked salmon
16 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
2 tablespoons minced scallions, white and green parts
2 tablespoons finely chopped carrot
2 tablespoons finely chopped celery
2 tablespoons finely chopped radish (2 radishes)
2 to 3 pinches kosher salt
1 pinch finely ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Slice the bagels in half horizontally and spread 1 tablespoon of the vegetable cream cheese over the bottom half of each bagel. Arrange 2 slices of smoked salmon over the cream cheese and place the remaining bagel halves on top. Cut the bagels in half crosswise and serve.
  • Vegetable Cream Cheese:
  • Place the cream cheese, scallions, carrot, celery, radish, salt, and pepper in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment and mix on low speed until blended.
  • Yield: 6 servings
