These are delicious steaks my mom used to make when I was growing up. They are easy too! They go great with mashed potatoes or white rice and have a flavorful sauce left over, almost like a gravy.

1 pound ground beef
⅓ cup dry bread crumbs
1 egg
1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed golden mushroom soup
1 (10.75 ounce) can water

Steps:

  • Mix ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, and onion soup mix together in a bowl; shape into 6 oblong patties.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties until browned, about 5 minutes per side.
  • Stir golden mushroom soup and water together in a bowl; pour over the patties in the skillet. Turn patties to coat in the liquid. Bring liquid to a simmer, reduce heat to medium-low, place a cover on the skillet, and cook until steaks are very firm, hot, and grey in the center, 10 to 15 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

Easy Round Steak With Mushroom Soup Gravy image

This is super easy and tasty! My grandma used to make it with mashed potatoes and green beans as side dishes.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 -1 1/2 lb round steak
2 (10 1/2 ounce) cans cream of mushroom soup (fat free is ok)
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can water
1 medium onion

Steps:

  • Cut off fat from round steak and cut into 3 x 3 inch pieces.
  • Whisk water and mushroom soup together in a bowl, then pour just enough to thinly coat the bottom of a 13 x 9 pan.
  • Place the pieces of round steak evenly around the pan.
  • Cut onion into slices and place them evenly on top of the meat.
  • Pour the rest of the mushroom soup mix on top of the round steak and onions.
  • Cover with foil and bake at 325 degrees for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

1 beef round steak
1 c flour
3 can(s) golden mushroom soup
2 can(s) water

Steps:

  • 1. Cut your round steak into medium pieces.
  • 2. Mix some flour and pepper, dip the steak pieces into flour mixture and brown in oil.
  • 3. Place the browned steak pieces in a baking dish. Cover with 3 cans of golden mushroom soup and 2 cans of water.
  • 4. Bake at 250 degrees for 3-4 hours. (Makes good gravy for mashed potatoes)

  • Trim the fat from the steak, and cut into desired number of servings.
  • In a roasting pan over medium high heat, sear both sides of the steak, about 1 minute per side. Remove from heat.
  • Stir the cream of mushroom soup, French onion soup and water into the roaster. Bake in the preheated oven 2 1/2 hours.

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 can (10-1/2 ounces) condensed French onion soup, undiluted
1 can (8 ounces) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water
1 cup sour cream

  • In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the flour, salt and pepper. Add beef, a few pieces at a time, and shake to coat. In a large skillet, brown the beef in batches in oil. Transfer meat to a 3-qt. slow cooker with a slotted spoon. , In a bowl, combine the soup, mushrooms, water, ketchup and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over meat.
